Think twice before using WebAfrica as an Internet service provider
On the 5th November, Openserve came to my new house to install my Openserve fibre line. This was done after I had just moved from another address and needed to move my Fibre line to my new address. I had logged my move request with Webafrica in October and all seemed to go smoothly other than the fact I had to follow up a few times with webafrica to get a date for the installation which was supposed to happen on the 4th November. Openserve completed the installation at my new house on the 5th November 2023 and my Internet was up and running the same day. On the 26th December 2023, I woke up and suddenly had no internet service.I contacted Webafrica in the morning of the 26th escalating the issue. After being transferred to multiple departments and spending most of my day on chat with them, I was told that Openserve had not correctly updated the installation information and as a result, my new house installation was not active. I find this very interesting as my internet was running fine from the 5th of November up until the 25th of December before it was suddenly turned off. Webafrica advised they will escalate it to Openserve to fix the issue and I should have a response within 48 Hours. On the 26th December I received an automated email from Webafrica saying my installation order has been placed successfully?? But it had already been installed over a month ago. So this was confusing and frustrating as why would Openserve have to install it again? On the 31st December I get another automated email saying they are monitoring my installation request. again, why is there an installation request? It's already installed, they just had to reactive it if they mistakenly deactivated it. IT WAS WORKING FROM THE 5TH NOVEMBER AFTER IT WAS INSTALLED!!. Today is the 3rd of January 2024. I still have no internet, and no indication of the issue being resolved. I tried to contact Webafrica on the 2nd of January to follow up, but the only option they have to contact them is via their chat bot, and for two days I keep being told I am in their call queue and they are very busy and can't assist me. I tried reaching out to Openserve directly on the 2nd January 2024 and only had their whatsapp chat bot available as a contact medium which doesn't work. It had very limited options and kept saying it couldn't understand my response after I kept adding the response it indicated I had to. On the 3rd January I finally managed to get to a call me back from on Openserves portal and I now hope someone will call me back soon and fix this issue. The service from Webafrica has been extremely poor and disappointing. If you are a new customer and you select the first option for sales, then suddenly Webafrica has the capacity to help you, but the moment you have a problem with the internet service you pay for and they should be providing you with, then suddenly they don't have capacity to help fix the issue and they force you to go through a very frustrating chat bot that keeps saying how it will connect you with an agent, yet 2 days later it still keeps saying the same thing and no Webafrica agent has contacted me or provided any feedback or a solution on my internet issue since I escalated the issue on the 26th December 2023.
