The best kinds of people

I understand why these okes get low ratings on here. The nature of the service provide, and the nature of the kinds of experiences that are shared on hello peter, is such that they'll be low rated.

People need internet. At a click's notice. People need delivery - on time and in time. I get it. It doesn't matter that electromagnetic fields are literally going to space and back so you can see Nicki Minaj's butt - you need to click click boom, right?

I've been there. I got upset. I tweeted some unkind things because I was coughing up cash daily due to late delivery. It's frustrating. This post was inspired however by a different, not always credited, side of customer service and genuine niceness. This is what brings us to two individuals: Goolam and Zainab from Web Africa.

Goolam had it a bit rough. They had the unfortunate experience of having me shout at them (sorry about that) after about a week of 'we'll deliver tomorrow'. But Goolam kept his cool, he assured me, and got **** done. Brilliant.

More impressive however, was Zainab. I'm not sure if my objectivity is affected here (might be); but she truly impressed me with her off-the-script approach to getting me sorted. She DROVE ME HOME after having me come in to have a look at my modem. Who does that? Zainab does. She then called me the next day to make sure everything was sorted; super nice. I'm sure it had something to do with the silly comment I made in a tweet about wanting to ask her number (joking not joking) - but it made me feel like Web Africa actually cares about me.

I run a start up tech company and will probably need my own fibre and perhaps server hosting in the near future. I am also well connected in Cape Town's silicone-cape tech industry. Guess who I'll be recommending every single time internet service comes up? Web Africa, that's who.
