Terrible service

I want to cancel my service. I gave notice 1st September. Now they only want to cancel end of October. Why?? That is 60 days not 30. So I must pay another payment again. And off course I must pay R999 to cancel. I didn't want Webafrica from the start but unfortunately it was the only provider in my area. I am utterly disappointed with them but I suppose that it is what it is. Never again will I make use of them

Hi Amelda,
We understand how frustrating this must be, particularly when you gave notice on 1 September and are now concerned about being charged for an additional month and the cancellation fee. We appreciate that you expected the cancellation process to be straightforward and that the outcome has left you disappointed with your experience.
We can see that you’ve already spoken with our Cancellations Team, who explained the cancellation process and the applicable cancellation date. We hope the information provided has given you some clarity around the next steps.
Warm regards,
Webafrica Crew

I have not spoken to the cancellation team , so I still don't understand why my service will only be cancelled end of Oct when you require 30 days notice. I've given that. Nothing has been explained to me.

Hi Amelda,

We understand your frustration, especially as you've advised that you submitted your cancellation request on 1 September and have not yet received a clear explanation regarding the cancellation date.
To ensure this is properly reviewed, we have requested that our Cancellations Team investigate the account history, including the cancellation request submitted on 1 September. They will review the interaction records and provide detailed feedback directly to you via email regarding the status of the cancellation and the applicable notice period.
We appreciate your patience while this review is being completed.

Warm regards,
Webafrica Crew

Hi AMELDA,
We get why the cancellation date is confusing, especially if you were expecting 30 days’ notice to determine the final date and haven’t yet spoken directly with our Cancellation team.
To clarify, our cancellation terms refer to one full calendar month’s notice, rather than a 30-day notice period. This means that when a cancellation request is submitted during a calendar month, the notice period runs through the following full calendar month, with the service cancellation taking effect at the end of that month.
For example, if a cancellation request is submitted during September, the applicable notice period would run through October, which would result in a cancellation date at the end of October.
That said, we recognise that you should have received a clear explanation of how this applies to your specific account. We’ve reached out to our Cancellation team to review your profile and confirm the cancellation request, applicable notice period and final cancellation date with you directly.

We appreciate you raising this with us, and we’ll ensure the relevant team provides clarity on the account and the way forward.

Warm regards,
Webafrica Crew 🌸

I just want my final invoice now so I can pay it. Can you please send me the invoice, and come and collect the router from my work address, or will this also be an issue?? I want to end my agreement ASAP. I do not want to wait till end Oct. I cannot move unless it is cancelled by you.

Hi AMELDA,
Our cancellation process follows a calendar month cancellation policy, which means the service remains active until the end of the applicable notice period before it is deactivated.
Once the service has been deactivated, the router must be returned within 20 days. The Knowledgebase currently advises that router returns are made via the applicable return process, so we’d like our Cancellation team to confirm the arrangements for your specific router rather than have you make arrangements that may not be accepted.

I don't care if it will be active or not. I want to cancel it and move to another SP. I want it done by latest end September. I don't care about your procedures. A calendar month is sufficient to do the cancellation. I am going to pay you the final R999 regardless, so I want it done asap.

Hi Amelda,
We understand that you want to cancel your service and move to another service provider, with the cancellation completed by the end of September. We also appreciate that you’re prepared to settle the final R999.
Our cancellation process works on a calendar-month notice period. This means that a cancellation request received during the month is processed for the applicable notice period, with the service remaining active until the end of that period before it is deactivated. Once the service has been deactivated, the router must be returned within 20 days.
As you’ve requested the cancellation by the end of September, the applicable cancellation date will depend on when the cancellation request is received and processed in line with this notice period.
Warm regards,
Webafrica Crew

I have already sent the request on the 1st September 2026. Thus, I want it done by 30 September. You can collect your router tomorrow already. I don't want any further delays.

Hi Amelda,
We understand that you want your cancellation completed by 30 September and that you’ve been clear about your request since 1 September.
We can see that you spoke with our Retentions Team today, however, there is currently no record of a cancellation request being logged on 1 September. As a result, we’re unable to confirm that the cancellation notice period started on that date.
We appreciate that you want to avoid any further delays, and we acknowledge your request to have the service cancelled as soon as possible.
Warm regards,
Webafrica Crew
