*****sters

I am extremely disappointed with Webafrica's handling of my account cancellation.

I followed the required cancellation process, provided notice, and did everything that was requested of me. Despite this, my mother's bank account continued to be debited after the service was cancelled. My mother is a pensioner, and having money deducted from her account unnecessarily is both frustrating and unfair.

What makes the situation even worse is that instead of simply investigating and refunding the incorrect charges, we are being asked to provide proof of cancellation for a process that was completed through your own systems. Customers should not have to fight to recover money that was taken after a valid cancellation.

I expected better customer service, accountability, and compassion especially when dealing with pensioners who rely on every rand. I urge Webafrica to review this matter urgently, refund the incorrect charges, and improve its cancellation and billing processes so that other customers do not experience the same frustration.

Very disappointing experience.

Hi Busisiwe,
We completely understand how concerning this situation must be, especially when it involves continued deductions after cancellation and impacts your mother’s finances. Situations like this require clear handling and sensitivity, and it’s understandable that you’re looking for a resolution.
This experience does not align with the level of service and accuracy we aim to provide, particularly when a cancellation should be straightforward and billing should stop accordingly.
We would really like the opportunity to take a closer look and assist in resolving this. Please send us a direct message on Hello Peter with:

The email address and cellphone number linked to the account
The date the cancellation request was logged
The amount(s) deducted that you are querying

This will allow our team to review everything in detail and ensure the matter is properly addressed.

Warm regards,
Webafrica Crew

Hi Busisiwe,Thank you for reaching out and we appreciate your patience while waiting for feedback. We understand how frustrating it must be to be waiting for updates on your refund, especially after already following up, and it’s important that you receive clear communication during this process.
We can confirm that an email was sent to the account holder at 16:10 today, acknowledging receipt of your Payfast refund query. Please note that your refund has been submitted for review, and this process typically takes between 10–15 business days to determine validity.
Once the refund is approved, the account holder will receive an email from PayFast (***) requesting confirmation of your banking details. This step is required before the funds can be released from your PayFast wallet to their bank account.
We will continue to monitor this and ensure you receive updates as soon as the next step in the process is completed.
Warm regards,
Webafrica Crew
