Stay far away from Webafrica!
My fibre line was unexpectedly disconnected, with no warning, on 26 April. I spent an entire day on the WhatsApp support line on 27 April 2021, talking to the robot and 7 different consultants. Not a single one could provide me with a reason for the cancellation. The apology I received from one Yolanda Mseleni by the end of the day "I am so sorry to note the circumstances stated below as they do not reflect our brand ethics.I sincerely apologize for the frustration and cost that the response delays caused you. You deserve a smooth , uncomplicated service." did not result in improved service. I was assured that someone would phone me. I eventually received a call from Webafrica on 4 May but was unable to answer. I received no further calls from them. I then cancelled my service and sent an email complaint on 29 April. Augustin Bell informed me in response that his manager Rushdien Majiet would contact me the same day. I am still waiting for his call. Lisa Minnaar from the "Customer Retention" dept. mailed me on 4 May to ask if there is something they can do to make me stay. I informed her no. I placed an order with Mweb to take over the line. They informed me that Webafrica has not yet released the Openserve line (on 19 May). Upon querying this with Lisa, she informed me that it cannot be done and that "the cancellation process will follow". Throughout this process, not a single person (apart from one missed call) has made an effort to contact me directly.
