Repeat Offender: Week-Long Outage, Zero Support, and a Pattern of Silence

Over a week without internet. No response via phone, WhatsApp, or online support. This is not a service disruption, this is a pattern.

This is not the first time Webafrica has left me without connectivity for an extended period. And based on past experience, I know exactly how this ends, the moment enough pressure is app****, the connection is quietly restored as if nothing happened. No communication. No accountability. No explanation.

I work from home and run a business. This outage has already cost me close to R1,000 in mobile data just to stay operational. That is money out of my pocket because Webafrica has failed to deliver a service I am paying for, with a zero-balance account, no less.

This cycle of neglect followed by a silent fix is not acceptable. I am not looking for another quiet resolution. I want answers, accountability, and a guarantee that this will not happen again.

Hi Sinakho,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and for clearly outlining the impact this ongoing connectivity issue has had on your work and business. We fully acknowledge the seriousness of being without internet for an extended period, especially when you rely on the service to operate and have incurred additional costs as a result. To ensure this is addressed with the urgency it deserves, the matter has been escalated to our Finance Team for an urgent review of the account, and they will reach out to the account holder directly to discuss the account status and next steps. We have also taken note of your concerns around communication, accountability, and recurrence, and these points will be reviewed internally to ensure they are properly addressed. Your feedback will be shared with our Service Quality Team for review and improvement.
We appreciate you raising this and giving us the opportunity to address it properly. If you need further support, you are welcome to continue the conversation via direct message on Hello Peter and we will ensure it is actively monitored.
Warm regards,
Webafrica Crew

Let me be absolutely clear, I will not be moving this conversation offline. Not via direct message, not via phone, not via any private channel. This stays here, in public, where it belongs.

I find it telling that your response focuses on reviewing my "account status" when my account has zero outstanding balance. There is nothing wrong on my side. The problem is entirely on yours. Redirect that energy toward reviewing why a paying customer was left without internet for over a week, again with no communication and no accountability.

Now, let us talk about compensation. Webafrica has no problem whatsoever remembering to debit my account every single month without fail. That same precision must now be app**** to compensating me whether through a rand-for-rand credit for every day of downtime or a pro-rata reduction on my next invoice. I will accept nothing less .

Vague references to Finance Teams, Service Quality reviews, and internal escalations mean nothing to me. I have heard it before. I want a concrete, written commitment on this public platform , not promises, not platitudes.

The clock is ticking. I will be exploring every avenue available to me, including the relevant consumer protection channels, if this is not resolved with the urgency it demands.

This is exactly the pattern I have been describing.

This morning I have been waiting in your chat queue since 08:27 with no response from any agent and this is not the first time. The exact same thing happened yesterday. No answer, no callback, no acknowledgement.

I am not reaching out because I want to ONLY complain but I am reaching out because I am desperately in need of reconnection and every channel I try leads to the same dead end. Yet somehow, Webafrica continues to operate as though this is acceptable.

This is no longer just a connectivity issue, it is a complete and total failure of customer support. I need this escalated immediately and I need a response on this platform, not a queue that goes nowhere.

Update: It is now 13:02 and I still have not received a single response from any Webafrica agent.

I have been in this queue since 08:27 this morning, nearly five hours and the silence from Webafrica has been deafening. No agent, no callback, no email, nothing.

In the meantime, I have once again had to reach into my own pocket to purchase mobile data just to stay connected and keep my business running. This is money I should never have had to spend. My Webafrica account is fully paid up, I do not owe them a single cent yet here I am, personally funding my own connectivity while they collect my subscription without flinching.

This is daylight *******. A company that debits without fail but cannot restore a service or answer a customer for days on end has no business operating.

I am documenting every hour of this. Every rand spent. Every unanswered call. Every ignored message. This will all be on record when I escalate to the relevant consumer protection authorities.

Hi Sinakho,
We fully understand how distressing and unacceptable this experience has been, especially given the prolonged lack of connectivity, the repeated time spent in chat queues without response, and the financial impact this has had on your business. Being left without support while actively trying to get assistance is understandably frustrating, and your concerns around accountability and responsiveness are clearly noted.
To ensure this receives the attention it requires, the matter remains escalated and is being actively tracked, with focus on restoring connectivity and addressing the gaps in communication you’ve highlighted. Your experience, including the extended queue times and lack of agent engagement, is being shared with our Service Quality Team for urgent review and improvement, as this falls well below the standard of support we aim to provide.
We will continue to engage with you here on Hello Peter to keep communication visible and transparent, and to ensure your concerns remain actively monitored and followed up.
Warm regards,
Webafrica Crew

I am following up on my outstanding query, as I have yet to receive any clarity or have my internet connection restored. To date, this matter remains completely unresolved.

I would appreciate urgent attention to this, along with a clear update on the steps being taken and an estimated resolution time.

I need timelines of when this will be fixed. I am spending more on mobile data because you guys are dragging your feed to solve this. I also asked that you keep this public and transparent because I am tired of things discussed in shadows.

Hi Sinakho, We understand your frustration, especially with the additional mobile data costs you’re carrying while waiting for this to be resolved. That’s not the experience you should be having, and we hear your concern around timelines and transparency. Our billing team is still actively working on your case, and we have submitted a follow-up request again under *** to prioritise feedback and clarity on the outstanding action. At this stage, we’re awaiting a direct update from the service suspension team who are handling the final resolution steps on the account. While we don’t yet have a confirmed completion time, the follow-up has been escalated specifically to get urgency and a clear outcome, and we’ll share feedback with you as soon as it comes through. Warm regards,
 Webafrica Crew
