READ THIS BEFORE GETTING WEBAFRICA AS YOUR SERVICE PRODIVER - THEY ARE PATHETIC

Where to start... This is by far the worst service that I have ever received from a service provider. If you are thinking of getting Webafrica as your internet service provider, don't, read my story and tell me if you still want to use them.

Timeline: 25 November 2018 - I had app**** for Cell C LTE internet (100GB) per month for R441.67 a month (inclusive of VAT) and an additional R209 (inclusive of VAT) for the router - which was supposed to be free, they only charge if you cancel within 12 months or you bring the router back at your own courier cost. Aside from that everything was fine, the service worked and had no issues.

13 September 2019 - I make a request to be UPGRADED from Cell C LTE (100GB) to Uncapped Fibre (20MB per second) at a cost of R699 per month as I had moved to a new place with a room mate.

30 September 2019 - I get an email from Melissa Titus saying that Fibre cannot be picked up in the building that I resided, after numerous e-mails back and forth she finally confirms that there is indeed fibre available in the building.

03 October 2019 – I get an e-mail from Rowena Davids asking where I would like to have my Fibre router delivered to. I give her my work address. Later in the day I get a call from FROG FOOT (Customer Agent: Lyndall) to notify me that there are two applications for fibre stemming from the same building unit. So, without realisation, my roommate had also made an application for fibre with VOX Telecoms. Lyndall advised me to speak to my roommate to see whose application should be cancelled. We talked and decided to have mine cancelled as VOX Telecoms (my roommates service provider) had already started activating the line and had an agent visit to install the fibre and that I would have to cancel my application.

On the same day I notify Rowena Davids to please not send the fibre router anymore as I had made an error on my part. I then proceeded to make contact with Web Africa via telephone on 3 occasions, I was made to hold on the line for over an hour after being transferred to the Operations department. Eventually I hung up the call and sent them an e-mail about my mix up and to cancel my upgrade order and also to cancel my Cell C LTE service.

07 October 2019 – I get a follow up call from Lyndall from FROG FOOT asking what the situation was with Web Africa and if I had cancelled my Fibre UPGRADE application. I tell her that I had not received any feed back from Web Africa and that I was frustrated. She asks me to keep her updated.

14 October 2019 – I finally get a response from Web Africa (Wongalethu Vakala) via e-mail “apologising” for me holding on for over and hour and stating that is not the service Web Africa prides themselves on. I e-mail her my issue and that I want to cancel my Fibre Upgrade and Cell C LTE service. In her e-mail she acknowledges that the Cell C LTE service is being cancelled but queries the fibre service.

After a week I had no response from them…

21 October 2019 – I follow up with Web Africa (Wongalethu Vakala) via e-mail and also get a follow up call from Lyndall from Frog Foot. Get this… She politely asked for my e-mail stating that I wanted to cancel my fibre upgrade application that I had sent to Web Africa so that she can help me get the application cancelled. She used her contact from within Web Africa to give me a call and follow up.

Later that day I finally get a response from Web Africa (Wongalethu Vakala) and again I had to explain my situation and I gave it in detail for the 100th time as to what the issue was and what had to be cancelled.

22 October 2019 - Only on this day do I get an e-mail notifying me that my cancellation has been scheduled. A full week later.

25 October 2019 – I get an invoice from Web Africa charging me a total of R1,229.00 (R530 for Cell C LTE and R699 for Fibre – which I did not have and had asked on numerous occasions to cancel). Mind you I did not reverse this debit order but made calls to Web Africa to enquire about why I was being charged for a service that I had not received (the Fibre) after I had cancelled the application. No assistance whatsoever, instead I was left holding on the line like always.

Fast forward a month later to 01 November 2019 and I get debited R2,091.90. I reversed this debit order as this was daylight theft and I asked for what I was being debited for as 1. I had cancelled my services and they had acknowledged this. 2. I was only using one service Cell C LTE yet I was being charged for Fibre as well, yet I had app**** for an UPGRADE which I had then cancelled.

I am still waiting for an answer.

So, tell me if you still want to get Web Africa as your service provider.
