Quick Installation

Being a Telkom customer for as many years as I have had a landline, I ventured into DSL when internet became practical. My 2Mps and eventually 100Gb data served me and my family well for many years.

Enter Fibre: Vumatel installed fibre in my neighbourhood and I mulled it over for some months before I decided to take the leap. Being the loyal customer, I app**** to Telkom online for installation of fibre to my home...and nothing happened. I patiently waited for two weeks, but without a reference number, I could not find anyone in Telkom to assist. Soooo... I logged into my Telkom profile and completed the application process once again, thinking that it would make a difference.... Indeed it did! Two days later, a lady called me from Telkom asking all the right questions and I even opted for Showmax add-on. She confirmed the total monthly amount and I accepted. The call ended and I never heard form Telkom again. I tried various other methods of application. E-mail to Telkom Sales, e-mail to Telkom Orders, a visit to Telkom shop, a call to Telkom support, interaction with Delivery manager within Telkom. All coming to naught. I app**** to Webafrica on Tue 24 Oct 2017. Installation was arranged within two days for Monday 30th Oct 2017, but due to an issue, installation only happened on 31st Oct 2017. By 01 Nov 2017 my fibre service was active. Free installation and router included.

I experienced one hiccup with the modem delivery, but it was sorted after a few calls. I had installed my own modem, so it was not too serious.
