Pray you dont experience any issues
All around terrible experience in trying to use a service I'm paying for.
Used webafrica because they had a deal with octotel fibre. Ordered it, then receieved a cryptic sms 3 days later saying it was cancelled because my body corporate denied install. I messaged them (each time I talk to them I wait minimum 2 hours for an agent to respond btw, sometimes more than a day) and it was then revealed it was because octotel was out of open lines so they couldnt accomodate me, instead they could give me vumatel. But I had to chase them up and ask about it otherwise...id be without anything and none the wiser.
Then it was installed without hassle, but activation took 2 days langer than their usual "promised" time because they did not communicate with vumatel, and then told me this was false and the problem **** with vumatel.
The internet worked for a week. Then stopped with the router flashing a red light. This has been such a headache to deal with, at the time of writing this, 48+ hours without internet. Every night on the phone with support, 2 "tickets" were raised with vumatel, but nothing has been done. They just say they will escalate.
Thank you for taking the time to share this and for explaining the full journey you’ve been through. From sign‑up through to activation and now extended downtime, this experience should have been far smoother and far more transparent. Being left to chase updates, deal with conflicting information, and then sit without service again understandably turns what should be a simple onboarding into a very stressful ordeal. This is not the standard we aim to deliver, and we recognise how draining this has been for you.
We want you to know that the team handling faults is actively engaging with Vumatel regarding the current outage and router issue you’re experiencing. Given the repeated disruptions and the time already spent without service, we’ve requested an urgent follow‑up to ensure the matter remains prioritised and that direct feedback is provided to you, rather than leaving you without updates. Restoring your connectivity remains the immediate focus.
Your feedback around communication gaps, activation delays, and the overall experience from start to finish will be shared with our Service Quality Team for review and improvement, as the process clearly fell short of what it should have been.
If you any further assistance, please feel free to reach out via a private message on Hello Peter, and we’ll continue assisting.
Warm regards,
Webafrica Crew
