Please be wary of Webafrica

Webafrica started off great but when I needed to cancel after a year as I was moving back home from the eastern cape, I had easily one of the most miserable experiences of my life (and it's still not over) l. Cancellations can only be done with a calender months notice. I submitted my cancellation on the 1st of March, but it only cancels on the 1st of May. According to their flawed policy, your cancellation date will only be calculated a month from the END of the month you said you want to cancel. So since I asked to cancel on the first of March, they'll take the cancellation to be processed a month from the end of the month (31st of March) which is the 1st of May. I didn't think that this is what was meant when a calender months notice needed to be given. I thought if you cancel on the 1st of March, it will be cancelled on the 31st of March. I was so frustrated when I saw how roundabout their cancellation policy is and how vague the process is on their support pages. Please plan accordingly if you're going to cancel with these people. I'm not using their services at all since March but they've billed for March and April (R679 /month). I'm currently unemployed and I'm so dejected that I have to pay such an big amount of money for something I can't even use and was supposed to be 'month-to-month'. Here's the catch with Webafrica: they will bill you regardless if you use their services or not and they will not cancel your debit order until it's paid in full. So why all this fuss with calling it month-to-month because that sounds alot like how a contract works to me. Kind of defeats the point of a month to month appeal in my opinion. Please do yourself a favour and get a different ISP because you can't even speak to an actual person when you have a problem, everything is done with WhatsApp and they take their time to respond and will refer you to other agents and frustrate the life out of you.

I won't recommend Webafrica to anyone again. I feel completely ****med and am powerless against it.
