Paying for Service, Receiving Nothing

Why do we pay for Web Africa’s "support" when it’s clear they have no interest in actually assisting customers? They force you through their broken system, waste your time, and somehow still manage to do absolutely nothing.

I requested a line transfer on 27 January for activation on 1 March. Knowing how inefficient Web Africa can be, I called on 22 February to request that the activation be moved up to 27 February—a service they claim to offer. It’s now 25 February, and despite my early request and multiple follow-ups, my issue is still unresolved, and Web Africa has made zero effort to action this.

I spent six hours straight on their pointless WhatsApp support line, from 9 AM to 3 PM, getting transferred between agents who either didn’t know what to do or didn’t care. Instead of resolving the request, support sent me to sales, and sales bounced me back to support, turning a simple activation request into an exhausting cycle of incompetence. Mamdisa, Sikho B., and Nosi from sales were utterly useless, offering no solution or accountability.

Then there was Jeandré D., who, in a single conversation, asked me for my name, ID, email, and address three separate times, as if he had no memory or access , still no was i type this , it is where we have left the chat, thanking me for my patience but sitting with every detail her asked for in one chat. That level of inefficiency is impressive in the worst way. Instead of progress, all I received from him was empty politeness and a ‘thank you for your patience’—as if that somehow compensates for Web Africa doing nothing in three days.

To make matters worse, Nosi from sales tried to tell me I had requested the wrong service and should have asked for a ‘line activation’ instead of a ‘line transfer’—as if I, the customer, am expected to be an expert in their internal terminology. It is Web Africa’s job to assist customers, not to expect us to navigate their technical jargon and policies on our own. If there was a misunderstanding in wording, any competent support agent should have clarified it immediately, instead of wasting my time with more red tape.

Web Africa’s business model is clear—take your money, offer the bare minimum, and then disappear when you need actual support. They advertise services they have no intention of fulfilling, lock customers into an inefficient system, and make even the simplest requests an uphill battle.

It is now 25 February, just two days before my requested activation date, and I have absolutely no confidence that Web Africa will follow through. If you want a service provider that takes your payment upfront and then makes you fight for basic assistance, Web Africa is the one for you. If not, save yourself the frustration and go elsewhere.
