Pathetic non existing service delivery

We needed to get connected to the internet asap after returning from abroad and started with the only fibre operator in our area. Vumatel. Vumatels list numerous ISP that utilize their cable in our suburb. Since the property we moved to, had two tenants. One of which was already connected to WebAfrica. So we opted for WebAfrica thinking it shouldn’t be a problem getting connected as they already had two lines connected at the premises. Unfortunately both companies fell short of their mottos used in their advertising slogans to provide a fast customer orientated internet service. Its now been a month since we signed up and we are no further than when we started. We have tried the only channel available to us, via WebAfricas Whattsapp. Every time we try make contact, we spend half the day waiting for a response or responses from the service agents, followed by having to explain ourselves over and over again. Every time it’s a new customer service agent that we’re having to repeat ourselves, and not getting any further than the previous session. Now after a month we were told, that the problem lies with Vumatel. They cant do anything and the problem is now escalated to Vumatel. Passed the buck! Its now been another 3 days since. We are so fed up that we just want to cancel. Unfortunately, Vumatel has the monopoly in the area. And they know it. So no matter which ISP we choose, we’re still stuck with either Vumatel or Vumatel! We were told that Vumatel said that there were already 2 existing lines. Yes, it looks that way. But then again, Im no fibre cable expert! How about getting someone off their ass and coming to the site and seeing for yourself and clear up the matter!? Its easy sitting behind a pc and saying there are or were two lines at the given address. Are you guys actually interested in new business and customer service or not? If not, just tell me, and I will find an alternative solution. We need more international companies such as Starlink etc to create competition, to improve service delivery and value which certain ISP’s are unable to provide. Would I recommend using WebAfrica and Vumatel knowing what we’ve experienced so fa. Most definitely – NOT! Looking at the reviews on Hellopeter for alternative ISP’s or cable operators, you will find your limited for qualitative choice! If these companies are not able to provide a basic service as getting connected to the internet, one wonders what the service going forward will be like????
