Ongoing fault since Monday, ticket closed without resolution — pattern of tickets logged with no follow-through

I'm dealing with yet another unresolved fibre issue with Web Africa, following an installation delay in June/July and a billing dispute that is still ongoing.

Since Monday I have had a serious fibre fault, making it impossible to work from home or even join a Teams call. I logged a fault on Tuesday morning (Fault ***), and was told it would be attended to within 24-72 hours. It was not resolved, and the ticket was closed regardless.

I spoke to two agents, Noxolisa and Tamsanqela, both of whom said they understood the urgency, ran basic troubleshooting (LAN connection, IP address checks), and then logged a new ticket with the critical care department (Ref: CCT-6899) — with no timeline given for resolution.

This is now the third time I've experienced this exact pattern with Web Africa: a ticket gets logged, and then nothing happens until I escalate publicly. It happened with my installation delay, it happened with my billing dispute (still unresolved after a week with no response from your complaints email), and now it's happening again with this fault.

I need this fault actually resolved, not just passed along to another department with no follow-up. I'd also appreciate a clear timeline from the critical care team on CCT-6899.

Hello Renier,
We understand how disruptive this ongoing fibre fault has been, especially as it is preventing you from working from home and attending Teams calls.
A follow-up has been logged with our Faults Team to assist with the outstanding issue. We’ve included the existing fault references 425589 and CCT-6899 to ensure the team has the relevant history and can continue from where the previous troubleshooting left off.
We recognise that you need the fault resolved and not simply passed between departments. Our Faults Team will review the matter and assist with getting the necessary next steps in place.
Warm regards,
Webafrica Crew

Thank you for the response. I appreciate the follow-up being logged.
I do need to push back on one point though — you say the fault won't simply be "passed between departments," but that's exactly what has happened so far. It went from the initial ticket (425589), through two agents, basic troubleshooting, and was then passed to critical care (CCT-6899), all without a confirmed resolution timeline. Now it's being passed to the Faults Team as well.
Given this is now the third time I've had to escalate a Web Africa issue this way — installation, billing, and now this fault — I'd appreciate an actual timeline for when this will be fixed, not just confirmation that it's been logged again. I also still haven't had a response to my billing complaint, emailed to your complaints department over a week ago.
Please let me know when I can expect this fault to be resolved, and by when.

Hi Renier,
We understand your concern. Given the history of this fault and the previous escalations, we appreciate that another confirmation of a follow-up does not give you the clarity you’re looking for.
The matter remains with the relevant team for further investigation, and we’ve highlighted your request for a clear resolution timeline, along with the outstanding billing complaint you raised.
We’ll provide further feedback once we receive a confirmed update from the relevant teams.
Warm regards,
Webafrica Crew

Thank you for acknowledging this. I do appreciate that you've flagged both the fault and the billing complaint together.
That said, I've now been told multiple times across several weeks that matters are "with the relevant team" or "being followed up on," without ever receiving a confirmed timeline or written resolution — this includes the installation delay, the fault, and now the billing issue with credit reference CM240099.
I'd genuinely appreciate it if the next update includes actual confirmed details: a resolution date for the fault, and the confirmed credit amount for the billing overcharge. Vague confirmations that something is "being investigated" don't resolve anything on their own.
I'll wait to hear back with those specifics.

Hi Renier,
We understand your request for specific dates and confirmed amounts, especially after the number of follow-ups you’ve already received.
At this stage, we’re unfortunately unable to confirm a resolution date for the fault or the final credit amount for the billing overcharge, as our teams are still working on these matters and confirming the outstanding details.
Your requests for a confirmed fault resolution date and the credit amount under reference CM240099 have been highlighted for attention. The appropriate team will be in touch with you once the details and next steps have been confirmed.
Warm regards,

Neither of the two outstanding issues has actually been resolved. The fault is still not fixed, and the billing issue (reference CM240099) remains completely outstanding — no confirmed amount, no written resolution, nothing.
We have emailed your complaints department multiple times about these matters, with no proper response. We will be taking this up with ICASA again.

Hi Renier,
We understand your concern, particularly as both matters remain outstanding and you’ve already made several attempts to obtain a resolution.
The fault and billing query under reference CM240099 remain under review, and we’re unable to confirm a resolution date or credit amount until these details have been confirmed. Our teams are continuing to work on the outstanding matters and will be in touch with you once there is confirmed feedback to provide.

I just received a phone call about this, and once again the response was simply that the matter has been forwarded to someone else — no timeline, no confirmation that anything has actually been resolved.
This is now happening on repeat: fault 425589, CCT-6899, and billing reference CM240099 all keep getting passed from person to person and department to department, with no one actually taking ownership and confirming a resolution. A phone call telling me it's been forwarded again is not progress.
I need an actual person to confirm, in writing, when the fault will be fixed and what the credit amount is for CM240099 — not another handoff. As mentioned, we've already emailed your complaints department multiple times with no proper response, and we will be taking this up with ICASA again.

Hi Renier,
We understand that you’re looking for a clear resolution rather than another update that the matter has been escalated.
The matter remains escalated, and the relevant teams are actively working towards resolving the fault. Once the fault has been resolved, the account will be reviewed and the confirmed credit amount will be communicated to you.

With respect, this is the same response I've had for weeks now — "escalated" and "actively working on it," with no confirmed date and no confirmed amount. We are simply going in circles.
I'm not asking for another update. I'm asking for two specific things: a confirmed date by which the fault will be fixed, and the confirmed credit amount for CM240099. I have already sent this matter, along with the full history of unresolved tickets and unanswered emails to ICASA.

Hi Renier,
We understand that another escalation update does not address the specific information you’re requesting.
At this stage, we’re unable to provide a confirmed fault resolution date or credit amount, as the fault still needs to be resolved before the account can be reviewed and the applicable credit confirmed.
Our teams are continuing to work on the fault. Once it has been resolved, the account will be reviewed and you’ll be provided with the confirmed credit details.
Warm regards,
Webafrica Crew

I understand the credit can only be confirmed once the fault is resolved, but I'd point out that your own team already gave a resolution timeline of 24–72 hours when the fault was first logged (ref 425589). That window passed long ago, and the same applies to the follow-up ticket CCT-6899. So there is precedent for giving a timeline — it's just not being honoured.
The same applies to billing reference CM240099, where the timeline given was also not respected.
This matter has already been sent to ICASA, along with the full history of unresolved tickets, unanswered complaints emails, and repeated escalations with no follow-through. I will not be letting this go — I'll keep following up until I get proper, confirmed answers, not another round of vague escalation updates.

We acknowledge your concern regarding the timelines previously provided and the fact that these have not been met.
We’ve logged another follow-up on the matter, with the outstanding fault and the need for confirmed feedback highlighted for urgent attention. The team handling the fault is continuing with the investigation, and once we receive a confirmed update, this will be communicated to you.

This is another version of the same message I've now received several times — "logged," "highlighted," "continuing to investigate," with no confirmed date. That's exactly the pattern I flagged in my last message, and it's still happening.
I've asked for one specific thing: an actual resolution date for the fault, and confirmation on CM240099. Neither has been provided again. I'll keep following up until I get those two things properly confirmed, not another acknowledgement that it's being looked into.

Hi Renier,
We understand that you’re looking for confirmed answers rather than another acknowledgement of the follow-up.
At this point, the fault is still being worked on, so we cannot provide a confirmed resolution date. The credit can only be assessed once the fault has been resolved and the account has been reviewed.
We’ve raised your request for both confirmations again and will provide the details once they are available.
Warm regards,

At this point I have to be blunt: Web Africa has had more than enough time to resolve this. The fault was first logged over a week ago with a promised 24–72 hour turnaround. That deadline was missed, the follow-up ticket CCT-6899 missed its own timeline too, and now I'm told there still isn't a confirmed date. Not one timeline given to me on this matter has actually been honoured.
This isn't just a delay anymore — it shows your internal process for handling faults and credits simply doesn't work. Tickets get logged, agents apologise, timelines get promised, and then nothing happens until I escalate again. That is not reliable service, and I have no confidence that "continuing to work on it" means anything at this stage.
I need a confirmed resolution date for the fault and a confirmed credit amount for CM240099 — not another repeat of the same unmet promises.

Hi Renier

We completely get why you’re frustrated. You were given turnaround times that were not met, including the follow-up on CCT-6899, and being told that the issue is still being worked on without a firm resolution date does not give you the cer*****y you need.
We’ve taken note of your request for two clear outcomes: a confirmed resolution date for the fault and confirmation of the credit amount linked to CM240099. At this stage, we do not have a confirmed resolution date or final credit amount to provide, and we don’t want to give you another timeline simply for the sake of giving one.
What we can confirm is that the matter remains with the relevant teams for follow-up, and we’ll provide the confirmed details as soon as they are available. We appreciate your patience to date, and we understand that the next update needs to contain meaningful progress rather than another promise.

Warm regards,
Webafrica Crew

I appreciate the honesty in not giving another timeline just for the sake of it. But I have to be clear — "the matter remains with the relevant teams" is exactly the same position I've been in for weeks now, across the fault, CCT-6899, and CM240099.
This has already been sent to ICASA, along with the full history of missed timelines and unanswered emails. I'll be waiting for the next update to actually contain the meaningful progress you've mentioned — a confirmed date and a confirmed amount. If that doesn't happen soon, I'll be following up with ICASA directly on the lack of progress.

Thank you, but this is again just a note that it's been flagged — not an actual update. I've had this same response, in different words, for weeks now.
I'll wait for CCT to come back with an actual confirmed resolution date, and for confirmation of the credit amount under CM240099. Until then, this remains unresolved and is with ICASA.

Understood, and I'm not disputing why you're replying — my concern has only ever been that the replies don't contain any actual progress. I'd rather have fewer responses with real answers than frequent ones repeating that it's still with the team.
I'll wait for the confirmed resolution date on the fault and the confirmed credit amount for CM240099.

Good to hear it's being worked on. I'd appreciate a confirmed resolution date once it's assigned to someone actually doing the work, rather than another "in progress" update. I'll also still be waiting on the confirmed credit amount for CM240099.
