No internet for five days
My internet went down on 25 February. My ISP is Web Africa. I tried calling their call centre during the week and nobody answered. I emailed them to tell them of my issue. Web Africa then responded and reported the fault with Telkom. Web Africa say that they have access to Telkom technicians, but this is misleading. Their 'access' to Telkom results in rather in slow response times - I've had to constantly chase up with Telkom as well. My fault was apparently then only attended to on Saturday 28 February by a Telkom technician, apparently. I say 'apparently' because it seems the line was then broken again afterwards as the fault persisted. But neither Telkom nor Web Africa at first bothered to let me know that somebody attended to my fault, leaving me in the dark. Luckily, Web Africa's phone lines work on the weekends. I've already asked Web Africa for a discount owing to non-delivery of service. Web Africa shouldn't punt their access to Telkom if their actual access is basically weak. My internet currently is still down...
We know that having no internet connection is very frustrating so we can completely understand where you're coming from. For that, we would like to sincerely apologise.
As per our discussions, the major hold up was on Telkom's side. The fault was assigned to a technician a long time ago, but there was no eta due to high workload in your area. And as per feedback provided Telkom was at your premises on the 12th of March as promised and fixed your line. I've asked our guys to add credit notes on your account for the downtime and it takes up to 72 hours for the credit notes to be approved.
Since the matter has been resolved we would like to encourage you to update this post to reflect this resolution offered and if you do pick up further issues - please give us a call.
