MWeb/webAfrica / Vumatel sucks big time… disgraceful company
I was forced to join as they are the only fibre service provider within the complex where I recently moved into. Prior to moving in I made an enquiry, purchased a voucher and my service was activated on 22/02/2022, being well aware that I will only be moving in on 01/03/2022. I ended up moving in on 04/03/2022. The following week I followed up with them. The previous tentant removed all the fibre hardware when he moved out and re installation was going to cost me an additional al R1025.00. I agreed to paying after numerous hours and money spent on calls to MWeb. Spoke to numerous agents whom gave me a different story with every call and I called a lot. Reinstallation took place on 12/03/2022, the hardware wasn’t glued or secured as I had loadshedding at the time. The Vumatel technician assured me he would return later that day or the next to secure the device. He never returned. My fibre worked on that day and the next. By 14/03, the internet connection became intermittent then stopped working completely on 15/03. Again many calls and time spend for assistance. I was informed a technician would come out, no one called or came. Suddenly on Thursday 17/03/2022 my internet magically worked, without a technician coming out. On 20/03/2022, I received an email stating that my voucher will be expiring and a new voucher can be purchased online using my MWeb profile. I did this and on purchase my voucher showed pending. I followed up at 08:00 on 23/03/2022 with MWeb. I was informed that they will look into the matter and call me back within 4 hours. I got home just before 16:00 and no one called back. I called them again, was informed my payment was pending and that the agent could lift the pending status, by doing a manual override and I should do a payment, which I did. Once this happens and my service would be running after 24 hours. It’s passed the 24 hours and still nothing. I attempted calling them and 4 calls later, turned out useless. I was informed that they are running a promotion and should only pay R19 to reactivate my service. So for the initial service of 5 days I paid a full instalment of R399.00. Which I was informed that I will be refunded or credited, however when I enquired about it I was informed that I don’t qualify for a refund. This company should close their doors as all their staff are *********** and they are all *****. I have over 10 complains logged and according to the system it’s all been resolved however my service has not been restored. Out of 10 I give them a -100. They easy to take one’s money but doesn’t know how to provide after market support. All the staff is *********** as they don’t follow the same standards of operations, this includes the board of trustees down to the lowest paid employee.
