Lack of Service

I installed fiber in 2019. Since then the speed was slowing down. I phoned support and they told me my TV was old - I bought a new TV - didn't solve the problem. I had to connect the TV with an Ethernet cable to stop it hanging. Phoned support again and upgraded to 150/150 - no change at all. Phoned again and the lady told me to reconfigure my router. Still didn't help. Internet is so bad now that I lose signal all the time. I called for assistance at 15H15 on the 1st June and was cut off twice while waiting on the phone. I then contacted the WhatsApp number and was advised to "go get a cuppa" while I wait....and wait....close to 8pm a technician responds - 4 hours later. I had bought a new router after researching the problem myself and just needed assistance installing. Afetr the long wait, I had sent an email to say I was cancelling my contract (30 days notice) would be the end of June. No reply from the complaints department. Next day I contact accounts to verify that they received my cancellation - lady says, yes, she sees the email, but doesn't cancel the contract. She then asks if I want to be put through to premium service, since I had waited over 4 hours for assistance ?? Assuming my contract was cancelled, I contact and contract a new service provider. They contact me to say that Webafrica has not put the cancellation order in. Contact WebAfrica again - they now say I need to pay until the end of July plus a cancellation fee of R999. Daylight ******* considering that for years I have been paying for a speed and service which I have not received. I have wasted so much time and money on this company, and am very angry at the complete lack of service.

Hi Kim,
We hear how frustrating and exhausting this experience has been for you, especially with the ongoing speed issues over time, multiple support interactions that didn’t resolve the problem, long wait times, and the confusion around your cancellation request. We also understand the impact this has had on both your time and trust in the service.
This has now been logged with our complaints team for a full review of your case, including the historical speed concerns, troubleshooting attempts, service experience, and the cancellation timeline you referenced. The goal is to assess everything together so there is a clear understanding of what has taken place from start to finish.
We’ve also flagged your concerns regarding the cancellation handling and billing expectations so that this forms part of the investigation and response from the complaints team.
Once the review has been completed, feedback will be provided directly with the outcome and any applicable resolution.
Warm regards,
 Webafrica Crew
