⚠️ If You Rely on the Internet to Make Your Living… 🚫 Don’t Sign Up for WebAfri Providing Fibre and Service Delivery Like the ANC

Let me save you the frustration I’ve just lived through. If you work from home, run a business, or rely on your internet to make a living — avoid WebAfrica (and VumaTel) at all costs.

This wasn’t just poor service. It was a marathon of incompetence, delays, and zero accountability. --- 💀 My Full Experience — Timeline of a Nightmare

22 September 2025 (Monday evening): Internet suddenly dies. No warning. No explanation. Just gone.

23 September 2025 (Tuesday): I log a complaint first thing in the morning. That’s when the chaos begins.

24 September 2025 (Wednesday – Public Holiday): Still no service. I spend the public holiday offline, unable to work or even relax.

25 September 2025 (Thursday): Still no connection.

26 September 2025 (Friday): Internet finally comes back after four full days of downtime. I thought, finally, we’re back in business! Spoiler: we weren’t.

03 October 2025 (Friday evening): Connection starts dropping again. Devices show “Connected – No Internet.”

04 October 2025 (Saturday): I log another complaint. I’m told to “please allow 24–72 hours for resolution.” That means another full weekend without service (04–05 Oct).

06 October 2025 (Monday): Technician arrives. Says line speeds are fluctuating and that a new cable must be installed. Twenty minutes after he leaves — the connection completely dies again.

07 October 2025 (Tuesday): A lady from WebAfrica calls, saying they’ll install a new cable on Wednesday, 08/10/25. Minutes later, I get an SMS saying the issue is “resolved.” Resolved where? Certainly not at my house.

08 October 2025 (Wednesday): Technician arrives, installs a new cable inside, but says another team still needs to connect it outside — he doesn’t have the right equipment. So, still offline.

09 October 2025 (Thursday): I spend another 5 hours on WebAfrica’s chat. Transferred from one department to another. Same copy-paste replies:

> “We understand your frustration.”

“Please allow 24–72 hours.” At this point, it’s already been over 120 hours. ---

💢 The Final Straw — Friday, 10 October 2025

Today defined unprofessional behavior.

After days of wasted time and no progress, I once again asked to speak to a manager. The response?

> “It takes 48 hours to schedule a manager call.”

I honestly thought it was a joke. Two days just to schedule a call with a manager? Not even to have the call — to schedule it.

Then at 17:41, after I expressed my frustration and mentioned that I’d be sharing my experience publicly, the agent tells me she’s “at the end of her shift.” She gives me an “escalated case number” and transfers me back into the chat queue — without scheduling the call, without resolving anything, and without accountability.

To make it worse, a short while later — still on the 10th of October — I receive another SMS stating that my fault is “closed and resolved.” Resolved? I still have no internet. No connection. No explanation. Nothing.

That’s not customer service. That’s a complete failure of communication and professionalism.

Three weeks of constant issues, two weekends without internet, and still no resolution. --- 💸 The Real Cost

Because I work for myself, no internet = no income. This downtime has cost me roughly R1,000 between lost work and mobile data.

And when I asked to cancel, I was told I can only cancel at the end of the month, meaning I must pay for a full month of a service I couldn’t use. --- 🚫 Final Thoughts

This has been one of the worst customer experiences I’ve ever had.

Unreliable service. Endless waiting. Copy-and-paste responses. And a support team that treats customers like an inconvenience.

If you rely on your internet to work, study, or make a living — stay far away from WebAfrica and VumaTel.

They’ve proven that “service delivery” is just a phrase they throw around — not something they actually believe in.

You deserve better. Don’t make the same mistake I did.
