I regret choosing WebAfrica and cannot recommend them to anyone

My fibre was installed last week Friday at 10h00 and I was told that the line would be active within 30 minutes. When I returned home at 17h00 there was still no internet. Every device connected shows "Connected, no internet" and I am constantly redirected to the WebAfrica billing page. As of Wednesday 18h00 - still no internet.

Support has been a nightmare

On Saturday, I spent five hours (09:30–14:30) on WhatsApp support no resolution. They confirmed there was no issue with my account an no invoice outstanding, but unable to correct the fault even with escalation to the specialized team.

On Sunday, I waited more than an hour for a reply, was told it would work after a reboot when I got home… it didn’t.

On Monday, I contacted support at 17:15 and received no response until the next morning. Calls to the "upgrade" line leave you on hold for two hours with no answer.

A technician promised to call me at 17:15 on Tuesday — the call never came. Only at 18:00 did someone on live chat reply, and even then they couldn’t resolve the issue.

A “specialist” eventually called at 18:40 and confirmed there was an authentication error, but they were unable to fix it and said they would "log a ticket."

It is now Wednesday 18:00 and I still have NO internet.

I had to diagnose the problem myself I discovered an IP conflict: when connecting to the WiFi an being routed to the billing page, you have the option to log in via IP address - this logs me in under someone else’s account, which is in arrears — explaining why my internet is blocked. I reported this to multiple technicians but nobody can fix it.

This is the most serious part: I can see another customer’s full account information: ✔️ Name ✔️ Surname ✔️ Address ✔️ Account details ✔️ Login information

This is a clear and serious POPI Act violation, yet every time I raised it with support, it was brushed off.

In summary: • No service since installation • Support that is unresponsive, untrained, and unable to resolve basic issues • Zero accountability • A major breach of personal data security • And a complete lack of urgency despite the severity of the problem

I regret choosing WebAfrica and cannot recommend them to anyone.
