04 Jun 2026, 12:02Hi Laula,
We understand how frustrating it must be trying to make a payment without success, and then still being charged a debit order fee. When you’re actively trying to settle your account, running into issues like this can be very discouraging.
Debit order attempts are processed on the last working day of the month, and if the payment is returned as unpaid, the system automatically applies this fee. In terms of your connectivity issue, especially with the connection dropping around the same time daily, it’s important we determine whether the issue is device‑related or network‑related. Please try placing the SIM card into a mobile phone, switch on mobile data, and monitor if the same issue occurs. This will help identify whether the issue is with the device setup or the network itself so the right corrective steps can be taken. Once you’ve tested this, please send us a direct message on Hello Peter with your findings, and we’ll take it further to ensure the issue is properly addressed.
Warm regards,
The Webafrica Crew

Hi Laula
Hi Laula
We understand how frustrating this experience has been, especially with recurring downtime in the evenings, delayed responses to logged faults, and uncer*****y around resolution timelines. That kind of inconsistency is not what we aim for, and we hear your concerns.
While the team continues to follow up on your reference (#406876), we also want to help you stabilise your LTE connection in the meantime. LTE performance can be highly sensitive to signal quality, router placement, and network congestion, so a few targeted checks can make a meaningful difference.
LTE stability checks and expert tips
1. Router placement (very important)
LTE routers rely on mobile signal strength. Place your router near a window or in an elevated position. Thick walls, metal objects, and appliances can weaken signal significantly, leading to evening dropouts.

Why this matters:
A stronger signal (measured in dBm) directly improves stability, reduces packet loss, and prevents sudden disconnects during peak hours.

2. Check signal strength indicators (lights on your LTE router)
While models vary, most LTE routers use similar indicators:
While models vary, most LTE routers use similar indicators:
- Power light (solid green/blue): The router is powered correctly
- LTE/Signal light (1–5 bars or signal icon): Indicates mobile network strength
- 1–2 bars: weak signal, expect instability
- 3 bars: moderate, usable, but may fluctuate
- 4–5 bars: strong and stable connection
- Internet/WAN light (solid): Connected to the network
- Flashing or red LTE light: No connection or poor network registration
Why this matters:
These lights help isolate whether the issue is signal-related, network-related, or device-related without guesswork.

3. Restart your router during dropouts
A full power cycle refreshes the LTE session and reconnects to the nearest available tower. This can temporarily restore stability if the session has degraded.

4. Check for peak-time congestion (very likely in your case)
LTE networks are shared. Evening drops (around 18:00 onwards) often indicate tower congestion in your area.

Why this matters:
Even with a strong signal, too many users on the same tower reduce available bandwidth, causing slowdowns or disconnects.

5. Test SIM in another device (if possible)
This helps confirm whether the issue is router-specific or network-related.

Important context on LTE behaviour
Unlike fibre, LTE performance is influenced by environmental and network load factors. This is why signal strength alone doesn’t always guarantee stability, especially during peak hours.
We understand how disruptive this has been, particularly after repeated follow-ups and delays on your case. Your reference (#406876) remains under active review, and the team is continuing to engage on resolution. We are here for you.
