Frustrating Billing Issues & Poor Customer Support at Webafrica
I signed up for a fibre contract with Webafrica on 18 June 2025, based on a promotion advertised at R399/month. During my conversation with their sales team, I was informed that I’d pay a R249 connection fee — there was no mention of any other charges.
After that, there was complete silence from Webafrica. I contacted their sales call centre multiple times, only to be told that no bill could be found on their system. Then, unexpectedly, on 30 June they debited R106, and on 1 July, they deducted R444 — which confused me, as the agreed package was supposed to be R399.
I initially assumed the R44 was a prorated fee, only to realise later that the R106 from 30 June was the prorata instead. The billing was never communicated to me, and because of this lack of transparency, I reversed the R106.
I’ve since been trying to resolve the issue — but calling their support is pointless, and WhatsApp support is extremely slow. I was assisted by a representative named Fortunate Mokoena, who unfortunately provided no help. He repeatedly told me he had no answers to my questions, refused to escalate the issue, and eventually stopped replying altogether.
I am disappointed by Webafrica’s customer service and regret choosing this provider. The experience has been stressful, and I hope this matter can be addressed urgently.
