********** & ******* !!!

I was moving from ADSL to FIBRE as ADSL was no longer available in my suburb. I came across WEBAFRICA'S R399 per month advert for uncapped fibre 10/10mbps. This suited my pocket as I'm in travel and tourism and our industry took the worst knock during COVID where our incomes we halved or non existent. I app**** in July 2020 and all was set up and delivered. My first concern was that all is done via WHATSAPP and no direct communication. ALARM BELL #1. No contract in place and nothing emailed to me. ALARM BELL #2. Becareful here as WEBAFRICA has a 'contract' with you the consumer but you have no contract with WEBAFRICA. **********. All was running well till I noticed on my bank account in month 3 WEBAFRICA increased my monthly rate to R499. A R100 increase without informing me or any consent whatsoever. ALARM BELL #3. This is where all the sly ********** strategies by WEBAFRICA came into play. I queried this via whatsapp and email (as you cannot speak to anyone via telephone) and they claimed an email was sent to me but they couldn't explain the increase of R100 per month. ALARM BELL #4. I was unable to get any answers from anyone and just accepted this R100 increase for no reason in my month 2 with WEBAFRICA. I was told I had no contract with them so they had all the authority to take whatever they want from my account. ALARM BELL #5. I then moved from one suburb to another in Johannesburg in January 2021 after 6 months with WEBAFRICA. I put in a move request for EXACTLY THE SAME SERVICE I HAD : the fibre uncapped 10/10mbps. All was done via whatsapp again- no one to telephonically talk to . Very frustrating. I received a confirmation but for fibre uncapped but 25/10mbps. So I queried this and said its not what I wanted. I want my same service with my move for R499 per month (which was R399 when I signed up six month earlier). ALARM BELL #6. I was then **** to saying it's an UPGRADE and costs ate same. ALARM BELL #7. Then I queried again and was told by another agent its R980 a month and they can't keep me on same product with my move !!!!!!!! ***** ***** ***** *****. ALARM BELL #8. I then told the agent I added for a move of my line and product NOT an upgrade. So what I ap**** for six months before at R399 had now moved up to R980 a month by WEBAFRICA with no real explanation and no issue or cause of concern from their side. I had not added for any of this and was told is not our concern, we can't keep you on your app**** for service, it's all done by computer automatically !!!! What a crock of lies and blatant ********** activity and with access to my bank account! ALARM BELL #9. I spoke to at least 3 agents and each one **** to me and had a different story. At this point I realized WEBAFRICA was a ********** company exercising ********** activities with lie upon lie. I cancelled my use of their service with a months notice. I had three weeks to return my MODEM to them at which time they took the R1000 from my bank account for the modem on day 1. I had 20 days to return the modem. ALARM BELL #9. Luckily my bank reversed their debit and I returned the modem in perfect condition. Now they claiming an amount of R1440 for the fibre installation. What a cheek. ALARM BELL #10 REMEMBER THEY TILD ME NO CONTRACT IN PLACE. Funny that - a contract suddenly exists. ALARM BELL #11. ***** ***** *****. I have reported them to the Consumer Board of South Africa as their activities should not be tolerated in South Africa and accepted by the South African consumer. Enough of ***** and *******ion in South Africa and especially private enterprises servicing consumers. STAY FAR AWAY FROM WEBAFRICA. THEY LIE. THEY ARE *******. THEY ARE **********.
