Failed to cancel Telkom line
I signed up with Webafrica for a home ADSL line. When I did, I also got Webafrica to sign up for my Telkom line on my behalf. It was cheaper and they promised to manage it.
When I moved, I cancelled my ADSL from 31 November. I also asked Webafrica to cancel my line. I then went to Telkom to cancel my account.
They said they would do so, but they needed Webafrica to release my line first. Webafrica said they would do this.
In January I was still getting billed by Telkom. I went to their shop and found out that Webafrica still hadn't release my line. I phone and spoke to someone called Keegan Ezau. He apologised, said that I had followed protocol correctly, and that it was an error with either Webafrica or Telkom. He assured me he would rectify the problem, the money owed would be waived, and he would phone me back within 7 days.
Needless to say, none of that happened and I am still being billed by Telkom 2 months later.
I now owe R760 for services that I haven't used, despite having followed protocol, just because Webafrica are totally ***********. And I can't close the line even when I visit the Telkom shop in person.
Beautiful.
