Extremely Disappointed with WebAfrica – A Warning to Others

I initially chose WebAfrica in late November because of their competitive pricing, hoping to have my fibre line installed and ready by the time I moved into my new home in early December. Unfortunately, this turned into an absolute nightmare.

First, they charged me an installation fee of R250 before doing anything—despite reassuring me that this charge would only be processed once the installation was successful. Then, as I repeatedly followed up on my order, their agents couldn’t even find any record of it in their system. To make matters worse, I had to rely on the previous owner extending their fibre line just to have internet access until the end of December.

By 1 January 2025, I was completely without a fibre connection, and suddenly, WebAfrica became unreachable. After six days of frustration and zero updates, I had enough. I contacted Afrihost, and within a single day, my fibre was up and running. At that point, I chose to move on, even though WebAfrica had essentially ****med me out of the R250 activation fee.

Then, out of nowhere in late February, WebAfrica attempted to deliver a router. I rejected it, having never confirmed any service with them. Shockingly, at the end of the month, they debit my account for a service they had never provided. I reversed the charge immediately.

Mid-March, they finally called, and I made it clear how terribly they had handled my case. Did they truly expect me to sit without internet for three months waiting for them? I was already with Afrihost! Yet, at the end of March, they tried to debit me again—forcing me to reverse it once more.

WebAfrica, this is unacceptable business practice. You failed me completely as a client, and your approach to service delivery is beyond disappointing.

To anyone considering WebAfrica as their ISP—stay far away. Their incompetence, lack of accountability, and shady billing practices are simply not worth the hassle.
