extremely disappointed with both Vumatel and Webafrica.

I signed up for the service on 25 March 2026, but what followed has been a frustrating and poorly managed experience. My service was prematurely activated without any installation taking place and without proper due diligence being conducted.

Trying to get assistance from Webafrica has been a challenge on its own. It takes hours to get through to an agent, and the only available communication channel is WhatsApp, which is highly inefficient for resolving urgent issues.

After repeated follow-ups, the matter was escalated to Vumatel, but instead of sending an installation team, a maintenance team was dispatched — and to this day, no installation has been completed.

Communication from both parties has been poor throughout the process, leaving me constantly in the dark about the status of my service.

To make matters worse, I have now been billed R108.30 for a service I have not received, on top of the R550 I already paid upfront.

This experience reflects a serious lack of coordination, accountability, and customer care from both Vumatel and Webafrica. I would strongly caution others to think twice before signing up.

Hi Nonqaba,  we completely understand how upsetting this experience has been,  having your service activated without installation, experiencing repeated delays, and dealing with unclear communication is far from the experience you should expect.
We can see that you’ve already spoken with one of our consultants regarding this matter. Could you please let us know if you still require any further assistance so we can make sure everything is fully addressed to your satisfaction?
We appreciate your patience and feedback, and we remain committed to ensuring your concerns are properly resolved.
Warm regards,
Webafrica Crew

 Hi Nonqaba.

We get your concern and are happy to clarify. The pro-rata amount is calculated from the date your service is activated on the Fibre Network Operator’s system to the end of that month. This ensures you only pay for the days your connection is active, rather than a full month upfront. Our billing is always done a month in advance, so this approach avoids overcharging and ensures transparency in your charges. The R550 you’ve been billed goes toward your first month of service, covering the period from activation to the month-end.
We hope that provides some additional clarity.

Warm regards,
