Don't bother trying to get a refund for unauthorised money taken.

I have been trying for over a month now to get an update on my refund status. An amount was taken from my credit card months after cancelling. I have sent through bank statements and whatever was required but am just given the run around week after week of checking up, that finance is investigating. How long does this take?
