Demanding a cancellation fee for a service that was never activated

For more than three months, the service was completely unavailable despite WebAfrica's claims to have installed and activated fiber. I suffered through everyday, ineffective WhatsApp troubleshooting sessions during this period. WebAfrica kept billing me even though the service was often down. I was dissatisfied and canceled the non-working service, only to find out that I had to pay an early termination cost of R1500. By charging unreasonable costs for canceling a service that never operated, it seems to be an effort to take advantage on frustration among consumers.
