Deeply Disappointed by Webafrica's Service – A Frustrating and Traumatic Experience
I am writing this review to share my disturbing and stressful experience with Webafrica, in the hope of alerting potential customers to the poor customer service and lack of accountability I’ve encountered.
On 1 July 2025, Webafrica deducted a duplicate payment of R429 from my bank account for my monthly internet subscription. What followed was an exhausting and deeply frustrating ordeal that remains unresolved as I write this review.
I have made countless attempts to engage with Webafrica through their only customer support channel – WhatsApp. Despite sending repeated messages, providing proof of payment, and even emailing their customer service agent (Nthabiseng Nkomo) and their complaints department, I have been met with silence, broken promises, and no action.
Weeks later, and after being assured several times that the refund would be processed, nothing has been done. Eventually, I instructed them to apply the duplicate amount to my August 2025 subscription to avoid any service interruption. That request was ignored too. As a result, my Wi-Fi service was suspended, despite the fact that my account should have been in credit due to their own billing error.
What makes this experience even worse is the complete lack of accountability and transparency. I was effectively punished for their mistake, and no one at Webafrica has taken the initiative to resolve the matter. No phone number to call, no escalation channel, and no sense of urgency from their side.
This has not only caused me severe inconvenience and disruption but has left me feeling ignored, undervalued, and helpless as a paying customer.
I was forced to escalate this matter further through formal complaints to the Internet Service Providers’ Association (ISPA) and possibly the Consumer Protection Office.
I would strongly caution others considering Webafrica. A service provider that fails to respond to its customers, ignores legitimate complaints, and suspends service over its own error is simply not reliable. Customer service matters — and Webafrica is falling far short of acceptable standards.
