Charged for ADSL I don't want & haven't used
Web Africa was recommended so I went ahead and completed an application for a 2 meg uncapped account. I then followed this up with an enquiry about how long it might take. No response to my enquiry other than an automated reply. I then asked what the procedure would be with my Telkom ADSL account that still had an amount outstanding and what I should do about this - in other words some guidance on how I should proceed. No response whatsoever. I followed this up with many emails asking for a response and only got ONE mail back from a support department telling me they had forwarded my mail to the ADSL support department. At this point I decided this was not a company I wanted to do business with and sent an email to Afrihost enquiring about their uncapped 2 meg ADSL. Absolutely amazing response within hours. Every question I asked was answered in an enthusiastic and helpful manner and I signed up with them. I then informed Web Africa that I no longer wanted the uncapped a count with them and you guessed it - no response from them at all. I then tried to delete my bank details but couldn't but I have still been charged for an account I haven't used at all.
It's extremely embarrassing and disappointing to hear that you've received a dreadful service from us and we would like to sincerely apologise.
We've picked up that there was a problem with our ticket system and it routed tickets incorrectly, hence, our guys didn't reply to your queries promptly but this issue has been fixed. Moreover, your service has been cancelled and there's a credit on your account.
Please send a confirmation to our Billing team via email of the banking account details you'd like us to refund the money to (this is for the credit that's currently reflecting on your account).
It's sad to see you go and especially leaving us on a bad note. We wish you all the best with your new ISP.
