Billed for a service a didn't consent to activating
I have had such issues with Webafrica.
I app**** for Fibre last October, which I was informed would take 4-6 weeks to install. Fast forward to May 6 months later and only now was the fibre installed.
I wanted to cancel my existing internet and needed to give a months notice so I attempted countless times to get a date that the installation would be finished and would either not get a response, or would be told that they could not tell me when this would happen. All of a sudden. The infrastructure was put in, but I was informed that I wouldn't be billed until I told them to activate the fibre. Without my consent the fibre was activated and I started being billed. I contacted them right away and told me that I didn't even have a router. They then proceeded to send me one, without my consent now on enquiry they are informing me that it is impossible to reverse the charges.
I get that Webafrica is being billed by Octotel and that they want me to pay because of it, but I pretty much did all I could to try get them not to activate it until my other internet was cancelled, but it was still activated without my consent and now I'm being billed for two internets.
Lastly the customer service has been far from ideal, I have been transferred from department to department with no information. Have received rude and unhelpful service and been promised to be called back, which has never happened.
It's just all round sloppy and unprofessional service. Now that I want to cancel the service, I am told I am now liable for the setup costs, so now I'm forced to be with a terrible provider. Not sure if anyone has any suggestions on how to resolve this?
