Be careful when upgrading to higher speeds

I have a 10meg fibre uncapped at a monthly fee of R399 with FUP. On 16 October I received an email advising me that my fibre service had been fupped(Fair usage policy). They offered that I could upgrade to FUP free. I agreed to the 20 meg line offered by WebAfrica in their email at an additional amount of R207 monthly and that I would only be billed from month end. I agreed to this and requested that the service be upgraded to 20/20. The following day they debited my account with the interim amount until month end. I never noticed any increase in the performance of the line. On 1 November R819.00 was debited from my account. I contacted them and explained that they had billed incorrectly and the billed amount should be R399 +R207 =R606. I was advised by Nosipho Hantana that there had been an increase in line rental from R399 to R499 and that the increased speed package was R819. I explained that I was not getting the 20 meg speed as the speed test returned speeds averaging 8 to 9. I was then told that they had not submitted a request to Openserve to upgrade the speed to 20 meg, this even after they did a debit from my account for the upgraded service. This only got done on 21 October even though they had billed me mid month for the upgrade. As the upload and download speeds were still not great and they were billing for a service which did not produce what they mentioned. I requested that the service be downgraded to 10/10 FUP free. I was advised that this could only take place as from 1 December, very shrewd, they will upgrade mid month but not downgrade.
