Bad Service to New Customer
I was referred to Web Africa by a relative, who commended the high level of customer satisfaction from Web Africa. All I had to do was phone them and they would do the rest. Excited I phoned Web Africa eager to get the ball rolling. The call centre gladly assist with my order but that is where it stopped. Firstly, I was told I had to have a Telkom line installed and that would be converted to an ADSL. Once installed I had to give them a ring and they would do the rest. Once the Telkom line was installed, I phoned the call centre. I was then advised that I would be paying Telkom and Web Africa for a line. This should have been discussed prior to processing my order. I was under the impression, once the line was installed, I would only be liable to Web Africa. Not! If this was in the fine print – Maybe this should actually be in Bold and discussed with your new customers. With the line rental, the data and line speed, it would way more than the original sales pitch. The call centre informed that it would take 14 day for the line to be converted, which meant around the 10 Sept, but they would keep my up to speed and updated as the job progressed. However, I never heard from anyone at Web Africa again, and I had to phone to get an update. During the week of 15 Sept, I contacted Web Africa regarding when this conversion would be completed, only to be astounded that the ADSL was converted by the 12 Sept and my data was available. So how was I supposed to access the data? A router – Router, no one mentioned a router. Another sale, eager to set me up with a router. Being ill informed about this whole process worked, I ordered the router. I had been billed not a single mention from Web Africa after the conversion or the need for a router. Quite forward from Web Africa in my opinion. Well the router wold be dispatched after it had been pre-configured, so it would just be a question of plug and play. I patiently waited for the router to arrive. No router come. The date committed to by Web Africa was the 19th Sept latest. I was indeed debited for the router. Following up towards the end of September regarding the router, I was informed that the router had not yet been dispatch and the call centre had no comment on this. The router would be dispatched and would reach up by 29th September and I would be credited for the Data that I had already paid for. When the router arrived, it was not preconfigured and I had to phone the technical department on my expense and spend 53min with Ntiski. (EXCELLENT SERVICE) Finally up and running, NOW when am I getting my credit? Web Africa you truly disappoint!
