Avoid at all costs
If I could give 0 stars, I would. I have honestly never come across a more useless and infuriating business.
We moved into a new home just before the end of Jan, where the previous tenants had WebAfrica as their ISP. They cancelled their account at the end of Jan and requested that the fibre line be released for us to activate with a different ISP. We simply refuse to use WebAfrica due to past experiences of them just running debit orders months after we’ve cancelled our account with them.
After going through at least 6 WhatsApp agents, all who which have “escalated” the cancellation, we still sit without internet. WebAfrica then turned around and told us that because we weren’t the account holders, even though we are the tenants of the property (we sent them the rental agreement) they refuse to help us further.
So we get the account holders to get in touch with them (which they already have before) and confirm cancellation. WebAfrica assures them that the account has been cancelled and the line is released as of 3 Feb. Great, so now we can go ahead and activate with our chosen ISP. Jokes on us.
After requesting an activation update from our new chosen ISP, we are told that the activation has failed because WebAfrica hasn’t released the line and won’t release it until 1 March. Basically, we go a month without internet which is just great seeing as I work from home.
Is this even allowed?
Avoid WebAfrica at all costs. They are useless, rude and will make you want to pull your hair out.
