Anyone but Webafrica

At around 21:00 on Tuesday 25 February 2025, my internet suddenly went down. With Webafrica there is no 24 hour support, so I could only start to address the issue on Wednesday morning 26 Feb.

There is only a very annoying and frustrating WhatsApp platform to work through. After a consultant eventually comes online (sometimes up to a 30 minute wait) you explain the problem. Then you have to confirm your name, address, email and in this case, cooridantes. Then you wait for feedback. If their is no feedback or communication for just over an hour, the chat automatically closes and you don't necessarily get a reference number.

Then the above process is repeated on the same day, because you now get connected with a new consultant and the process starts all over again. This circle happens on average 3 times a day. Even if you are lucky to get a reference number for the chat (which mostly you have to remind the consultant to send you), and you state the reference number of the chat, I still had to confirm everything, again and again and again.

No imagine doing this for 10 days, because that is how long I have been without internet from Webafrica. Even sending emails to *** and *** yields no results. Everyone just states that my case is getting the highest priority and it keeps on getting escalated to MTN.

Apparently MTN suddenly lost the coordinates of my house, as I am on a fixed LTE service. Unfortunately the stingy landlord of the small complex I live in refuses to spend money to install fibre.

What is interesting, is that my neighbours in the same small complex, are making use of Afrihost and Vox. More interesting, is that they also have fixed LTE sim card, provided by MTN. However, they are enjoying uninterrupted LTE internet service.

The conclusion is therefore, that this technical issue is between Webafrica and MTN. However, Webafrica is just chatting to everyone over WhatsApp. Even the request for a technician to come to my house is a mission (impossible).

Oh, and don't think Webafrica forgot to take their monthly subscription money! And don't thing for a moment there will be a refund of the hundreds of Rands spent on mobile data to try and keep an online store running, and keep in contact with your family abroad. And loke most people these days, you also rely on the internet to stream entertainment.

But Webafrica doesn't care. They just love to chat with you over WhatsApp and waist your time, as in wasting hours per day. That was basically my full time job over the part 10 days, chatting to Webafrica.

In conclusion, please do not sign up for a service with Webafrica. Their service is beyond appalling.
