Abysmally poor customer service

After 10 years of poor service, I took the decision to move from Webafrica.

Because of my many experiences, I was careful to find out the whole process before giving notice.

Didn't help - service got unbelievably worse!

True enough, Webafrica's services to me were terminated on the expiry date, on their side they "forgot" to release my fibre line.

This has lead to further delays and unnecessary hanging on to WhatsApp calls - wouldn't be surprised if someone else can beat the 58 hours that my last call lasted! Still without resolution too!

WhatsApp is the only method of contact, which does not permit any escalation process. Any Customer Service reviews that are offered at the end of the call are attributed unfairly to the last agent on the call, who is usually the one who has made the mess clearer, and not to the many others in between who have played ping-pong with each other - my record is 6, each incurring waiting time before, during and after their futile bit, and each without exception requiring me to supply my identity credentials despite having access to the whole chat thread! The left hand clearly does not know what the right hand is doing at Webafrica, there is no apparent management oversight and no regard taken of the time wasted by their customers.

Needless to say, the line has still not been released, costing me and my family more than R1k in data already.

Does anyone actually care at Webafrica?

Hi  Ian. We hear you, and after everything you’ve described, it’s completely understandable why you feel let down. Moving providers should be a smooth, well-managed process, and delays with releasing your fibre line, especially after doing everything correctly on your side, are incredibly frustrating. We’ve reached out directly to the team that handles all line release requests and flagged your case for urgent attention. They’ve been asked to review your account and ensure the line is released without any further delays. You’ll receive updates on the progress as soon as they’ve completed their checks. We also recognise the impact this has had, from the repeated handovers to the time spent trying to get assistance and the additional data costs you’ve had to carry. That’s not the level of coordination or care we aim to provide, and your feedback has been shared internally so it can be properly addressed. Thank you for reaching out, and please feel free to send us a private message for any further updates or assistance.

Warm regards,
Webafrica Crew
