Absolute Incompetence and Shady Policies from WEBAFRICA
First off, I tried to sign up for VOIP Access late last year. 1. Nowhere was it clear that their R 200/m option was for only 200 minutes of talk time - this we found out later in the process. 2. Their Website clearly stated that connection was FREE. We were billed R 150 anyway and I tried querying it a couple of times with absolutely no help from them. We wanted the service, so despite the above, we went ahead anyway. 3. Then when it came to 'connecting the line, their Support Dept Couldn't / Wouldn't help me get connected to their servers and told me to check online as the device we were trying to use was not in their list. 4. Our intention was to get a different device, so we left the service in place over the next 6 months, but rest assured we were billed every month anyway. 5. Finally after some delays due to a death in the family, we tried to cancel the VOIP service. They took the call verbally on 5 May. We were very clear we wanted only the VOIP Service cancelled. At the end of May I queried the cancellation and asked for a credit to be passed for the service which was never used. I was advised that the entire Fibre and Voip Service was scheduled to end on 5 June. 6. I asked why the entire service and they couldn't explain - Only to say I must revisit a walk-in centre or try to get the action reversed through another channel. I was also told that only after the service had ended, they would credit the 7 months of unused service. 7. The 5th of June came and went, nothing has changed, BUT they did bill for another month AGAIN. 8. We reversed the debit order as they now owe us R 1550, and 24 hrs later we were advised that the service has been suspended due to non payment ??? Not Actually, every thing is still running.
This is a 'Company' who has no clue as to what they are doing OR more likely one of those Çompanies' whos policies and procedures are cleverly geared to collecting as much money as possible with delivering as little service as possible.
SAD, SAD, SAD...
