Why not to use vumatel

When a business is too big to care and forgets to maintain services let them know! So if you are lucky enough to have a choice between different fibre line suppliers go with anyone but Vumatel. Now you are going to ask why? And the answer is rather simple, you cannot complain or phone any helpline for help. Your only recourse if you have a line fault is your ISP. Now this might sound okay in practice, but lets look at the people who are hired by Vumatel to service their vast fibre networks... They make 99% of their money by installing and adding new customers to the network. So to get one of them to deal with a fault is nearly impossible because they always have to decide, fix a fault for free (make no money from my client Vumatel) or install a new client to the network and make money! As a business model this helps the network grow but does ****** all keeping the existing customer base happy. Now consider that some clients have no choice but to use Vumatel like me because they are the only fibre supplier running past our door. Well we are more or less *****ed. However we can do somethings to mitigate the issue by choosing the largest ISP rather than a small one, like in my case Axxess. If you are with one of the big three ISP's you can hope they have some clout with Vumatel. The sad fact is I have been sitting without internet for 9 days now and if I switched ISP, a technician would be at my house within hours to install/fix my line just so that they could get paid by Vumatel to do a job Vumatel expects them to basically do for free the rest of the time. You can see where Vumatel's business model is a big FU to it's customers... Sadly I am not considered as a customer. Axxess is but I am not. I am an Axxess customer and the only people I can take my frustrations out on is them. They unfortunately can do nothing but make feeble promises about escalating the problem.. So that is why if you have any choice in the matter do not choose Vumatel rather go with any of the others. All of them have helplines, someone you can call. Vumatel does not!

Okay. One saying you are sorry does not help me. It is day 11 of a fault that is apparently caused by your technician allocating the same node to two customers. I suggest instead of promising me you will escalate the problem you simply fix it. Anyone else reading my review will now fully understand that the only way to get help from Vumatel is to embarrass you in public. Maybe instal a help centre instead of hiding behind the ISPs

It is clear at this stage the only solution is for Vumatel to deploy a technician. If you read my review you will know why this is a nearly impossible task because their technical staff are not judged on how many faults they fix but on how many new customers they connect to the network. My guess is they will spend the next week trying to reconnect my line server (on the backend) before actually sending a real human being to fix the at this stage rather obvious fault. Sigh. I suffer so that maybe you do not have too

Day 12 and I still have no internet. Just how bad does it have to be before Vumatel actually dispatches a technician?

Final feedback. My error has been fixed. It was completely Vumatels fault that I sat for a whopping 16 days without internet. Apparently one of their idiot staff signed me up for Vuma Reach. The mistake was really stupid and the fact that it took 16 days to fix is unforgivable. Still waiting for someone from Vumatel to phone me and apologize. It is not like I get a refund from Netflix, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime, Brit Box, Apple TV or Xbox Game Pass. Not to mention the numerous battle passes I pay for. The very least I expect is someone to phone and say sorry! As for Axxess they finally came to the party and had Vumatel fix the issue. Still not happy it took so long. I think anyone reading this review deserves honest feedback. Would I use Vumatel again if I had the choice? Simple answer is no. But like most of us, I had to go with the fibre supplier outside my home. As for Axxess, they gave me a month's free internet but considering I have been without internet for 16 day it really was not enough to keep me loyal.
