Vumatel...*****s

After cancelling my internet service with CellC (using Vumatel as the vibre provider) on 30 September 2019, I signed up for my line to be moved over to Afrihost (still with Vumatel) on 1 October 2019. According to Vumatel everything needs to be replaced and I will be charged R1700 for Vumatel to do a new install of my fibre CPE and fibre line. I fail to understand is how the line could be working on the last day of September, but 1 October I need to install new line... If I'm only changing service providers???

Vumatel is trying to make money by insisting that new hardware is required, and a re-install is necessary...well thanks Vumatel for convincing me to change over to OpenServe

So on Friday 11 October I requested Afrihost to change my fibre line from Vumatel (existing installation) to OpenServe (new installation), On Tuesday 15 October the line was installed and my internet working.
Vumatel could not get their existing line working in 10 days, where Openserve could do a completely new installation within a couple of days....Plus the technicians who were doing the Openserve installation were much friendlier than any one who I dealt with at Vumatel.

When it comes to customer service and installation: Vumatel can really learn a thing or 2 from Openserve
