Vumatel's appalling service!!

I've been trying to get fibre installed at my premises in Georginia, Roodepoort since January 2018 via VUMA and Afrihost. As for the communication between VUMA and Afrihost, it soon became apparent that the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. We decided to drop Afrihost because, let's just say a "lack of commitment". Out of desperation and word of mouth, we approached WIREUlink with the hope they may be able to motivate Vumatel.

As for VUMA, the fingers on the left hand does apparently not know about each others excistance; 1.) VUMA installed their equipment in our cul-de-sac in December 2017/January 2018. Late January I was assured by a Fibrehoods (VUMA) technician that the fibre on the glorious VUMA pole right outside my premises is now life. Lovely, now I'm able to finally order my "Pure Internet Joy" from Afrihost. 2.) On VUMA's own website, one section assures me I have fibre. Low and behold, when I try and register for an Afrihost connection, I get told my area will have fibre soon and I'm now on "Expression of Interest". 3.) After numerous calls and emails to both Afrihost and VUMA, absolutely no joy. Afrihost had reasons as varying as the inumarable call centre personell I spoke to. Afrihost also assured my the fibre outside my house is life and I've been incorrectly filed under "Expression of Interest". Although VUMA's customer care centre was copied in with every email, not a single response from VUMA in now nearly 4 months. 3.) Seeing Afrihost's inability to sort out this mess, I've tried to contact VUMA directly. What frustration, what shambles. You hold on for hours burning through hundreds of Rands worth of air time and valuable personal time trying to speak to a call centre agent. If you do eventually get through, excuses range from Afrihost did not submit the documentation in time, to my area is not yet active, to a broken ground cable and then you get "accidently" cut off by the agent and you start all over again.... 4.) Right, now we moved on from Afrihost to WIREUlink. WIREUlink performs like world champs, they copy you in with every step of the process, you know exactly what is happening and installation is eminent. 5.) On Wednesday 25 April 2018, I notice a different set of VUMA technicians clambering on my glorious fibre pole. To my horror, they informed me the fibre in the cul-de-sac is dead, but no problem, they promised to report immediately, and that I will have fibre before the long weekend. Fortunately I did not holding my breath. 6.) VUMA then phoned us 3 May 2018 to inform us that fibre will be installed at long last Friday 4 May 2018. Guess what? VUMA did not pitch, no telephone call to apologise, nothing! 7.) Again numerous emails of complaint to VUMA and burning up air time trying to get through to their call centre. Not surprising, not a peep from VUMA and poor WIREUlink left holding the can.

Vumatel your service, communication and attitude is horrific to say the least.

87% of your 935 reviewers gave you a one star, really, really appalling!!!!

May I ask that you identify yourself. I would like to know who I'm talking to!!!! Hiding behind "The VumanTeam" is not acceptable! Now is the time for a senior manager to take responsibility and sort out this mess!! Name, email and contact number please!

Yay, I've finally got fibre from Vumatel after 4 months! Believe it or not, "Superheros" does exist. It was an absolute pleasure having a lady called Grace in the "Social Heroes" section of VUMA sorting out my fibre woes. She was charming, efficient, knowledgeable, distinctly proffesional and has a "****er" sense of humour. Grace, I sincerely wish Vumatel employ more people of your caliber, although Superheros are far and few between. Just watch out for Kryptonite at VUMA that would want to pull you down!
