I Can’t Even Give Vumatel a Single Star

I previously left a review on Webafrica (https://www.hellopeter.com/webafrica/reviews/webafrica-a-in-a-different-coat-***) highlighting their poor service. During my first experience in 2024, I was told the issue wasn’t with them, but with Vumatel — which resulted in months of frustration due to non-delivery of services I had paid for.

Fast forward to this year: the same story. Almost three months without delivery. When the team finally came out to install/reconnect the line, they confirmed that Vumatel had done a poor job. According to them, this level of sloppy workmanship is common with Vumatel technicians.

Today, after fighting for more than a month again, I asked a Webafrica agent (Sandile T. on their WhatsApp line) to escalate to a manager regarding my cancellation and refund. He refused to provide a manager’s name and told me I’d have to wait 48 hours to even speak to someone.

To make matters worse, Sandile explained that Vumatel received the money, and so it could take 15 working days to process my refund. That’s after nearly three months of non-service. I’m now being penalized as a customer, despite giving them every opportunity to fulfill their obligations.

Webafrica talks about “processes,” but what about the processes they fail to follow? What about the promises they’ve broken? Why is it always the customer who has to wait, follow up, and fight for basic service?
