Vumatel overturned my cancellation but I have no service and will still be billed.

Afrihost and Vumatel have been the worst companies I have ever worked with in my life. I app**** for a fibre line on 11 May 2024 and granted it was a Saturday so I had no expectations to get assistance. Monday 13 May I was told to confirm my payment information so I had to receive a code from a R1 transaction they ran. The code was not correct so I informed Afrihost on WhatsApp - the agent then told me to send my 3 months bank statement and account confirmation letter via email. I did exactly as told. I then get an email response asking me for the code on my statement, to which I said I didn’t get one but only a reference code, this person then insists on the code to which I said, there isn’t one, only a transaction code and your colleague said I should forward my documents which I have so use that to verify my banking details. After some more back and forth, they finally verify my account and now they can inform Vuma who will activate me 24-48 hours later. 48 hours later, I still was not active. A ticket was logged. Then some random person sends me a message on WhatsApp from a cellphone number and asks about installation. This person did not even have a reference number nor did I get communication from Afrihost or Vuma about a third party contacting me. I never needed installation since I have an ONT and Router. I felt so unsafe that I contacted Afrihost who communicated that there was “NO WAY FOR US TO CONFIRM THIS PERSON IS A TECHNICIAN” which makes you feel even more comfortable right? Wrong. I felt even worse and Afrihost couldn’t care less. My line still was not active but they logged another ticket. Mind you, none of the tickets have ever been resolved. I haven’t received any feedback whatsoever. I cancelled on Friday, 17 May 2024 after days of waiting for assistance. Cancellation was confirmed. Wednesday, 22 May 2024 - Vumatel and Afrihost send emails confirming I’ve been activated. 3 days after I cancelled. How is this legal? And if I want to “cancel again” I would have to pay a R999 fee. I still don’t have service. What I do have, is another ticket for a technician to help resolve the issue or to bring a new ONT. Can someone actually assist me since I’m forced to stay on? I no longer want to cancel since I don’t have the R999 cancellation fee. Where are the technicians? Where is my service? Why is the customer service so poor? Why can I never hear from Vumatel directly? Why have I not received communication from Vumatel? How long will it take for me to enjoy this service I’m forced to keep?

I just received an email saying my ticket was resolved but it wasn’t. There hasn’t been any installation. I don’t have any service. The lady who contacted me hasn’t done anything to help me but “escalate” and after she did, they just closed the ticket and said it was resolved. I feel like crying. I’ve been dealing with this poor service from this company and Afrihost for 10 days now and complaints go unanswered. Tickets go unresolved but they close it on their end. This must be a ****! I’ve been contacting everyone I can but no one is helping, they’re forever escalating and when you follow up, no answers. My account was even debited for R144 today but no services have been rendered. No technician has called me to set up a date for installation. I’m not going to let this go.
