Vumatel - Over a Week Without Internet — Endless Excuses, No Resolution
At this point, I genuinely feel like both Webafrica and Afrihost have failed completely when it comes to customer service and support. I would strongly advise anyone considering these providers to think very carefully before signing up, because if something goes wrong, you may end up wasting your time, your money, and your patience with absolutely no resolution in sight.

12 May 2026, 10:18 It has now been OVER A WEEK of trying to get my internet line sorted, and the situation has become an absolute joke. Not only has Webafrica failed to resolve the issue, but now AFRIHOST has also taken hundreds of rands from me — and I STILL have no internet. I’m literally paying money and getting absolutely nothing in return.I have spent HOURS on phone calls, sitting in queues, being transferred between departments, and repeating the same story over and over again. Every single time I’m told the issue has been “escalated” and marked as “urgent,” yet nobody bothers updating me, communicating with me, or actually fixing anything. What’s even more frustrating is that they seem to respond faster on HelloPeter reviews than they do to actual support tickets and real customer issues. The moment a public review is posted, suddenly there’s a response — but when it comes to actually resolving the problem, there is complete silence. From day one I was told this matter had been escalated, but more than a week later NOTHING has been sorted out. No internet, no proper communication, no accountability, and no real urgency from anyone involved. This entire experience has been exhausting, stressful, and honestly unacceptable. Customers should not have to fight this hard just to receive a service they are paying for.At this point, I genuinely feel like both Webafrica and Afrihost have failed completely when it comes to customer service and support. 15 May 2026, 09:31 It is now WELL OVER 2 weeks since my internet line stopped working, and despite multiple promises from both Webafrica and Afrihost, I still have absolutely no internet connection. What makes this even worse is that both companies were quick to respond publicly on HelloPeter, repeatedly claiming that someone would contact me “immediately” and that the matter was “urgent.” Yet THREE DAYS after those responses, nobody has contacted me, nobody has provided any meaningful update, and my WiFi is STILL offline. At this point, it honestly feels like these companies care more about protecting their public image and responding to bad reviews than actually helping paying customers. The responses on HelloPeter appear to be nothing more than damage control, because behind the scenes absolutely nothing is being resolved.Meanwhile, I have already been charged my monthly fees despite receiving NO service whatsoever. I am literally paying hundreds of rands for an internet connection that does not work.Over the past week I have wasted hours on calls, sat in endless queues, been transferred between departments, and had to explain the same issue repeatedly. Every time I’m told the case has been “escalated” and marked as “urgent,” but there is never any follow-up, accountability, or actual resolution. This entire experience has been exhausting, frustrating, and completely unacceptable. Customers should not have to fight this hard just to receive the service they are paying for.Right now, I cannot recommend either Webafrica or Afrihost to anyone. If something goes wrong, be prepared for poor communication, endless delays, empty promises, and absolutely no sense of urgency even while they continue taking your money every month.

15 May 2026, 10:08 Another day, another empty promise.I have now been told that Afrihost escalated the matter to Webafrica to have the line released early, and that the request was supposedly marked as “high priority.” Yet despite all these so-called escalations and urgent flags, absolutely NOTHING has happened. No progress. No updates. No internet. No proper communication. At this point, I am beyond frustrated. I have spent over a week chasing support teams, sitting on calls, explaining the same issue repeatedly, and still nobody seems capable of actually resolving the problem. What makes this even worse is that both companies respond quickly when a public review is posted, promising immediate assistance — but once the review is answered, the communication disappears again and nothing gets done. Can someone PLEASE contact me urgently, because I no longer want to continue with this process. I want my order cancelled and I want a full refund for the money that has already been taken from me while providing absolutely no service.I will be taking my business elsewhere. This entire experience has been a complete joke and one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever dealt with.
