Vumatel Fibre Rollout - *********** Contractors

Well firstly let me state that i am not a current customer, and based on my recent experience with you and your contractors this is likely to be the norm. The feeling amongst a large portion of Umgeni Park (Durban North) residents feel likewise at the moment. Hopefully Cape Town is not on your hit list. They are suffering a drought by the way.

Don't get me wrong, i am all for modern technology and work for a leading national ISP. However you total "gungho" approach to installing your fibre within our area, with a total disregard for the existing residents, amounts to disgraceful. Due to you *********** contractors and somewhat dubious wayleave process, we have had no water on 4 evening occasions over the last 2 weeks. This has led to a new geyser replacement and loads of inconvenience that is caused by no water (i think i can spare you the details). I can understand an idiot contractor hitting a water main on one or even 2 occasions. However 4 times in a short period amounts to just plain stupidity. I cannot understand how you contract or employ staff who have these levels of common sense. Although maybe i do, as you employed them.

Openserve installed their fibre a few months ago, and we did not have a single issue. Surely this says something. I am going to ensure in my capacity as an Account manager representing a large telecoms company, who sells both Vumatel and Openserve fibre, to recall your company's total "Mickey Mouse" attitude when deciding who to choose. As i live in the area my petition to boycott your company and services and instead procure from your opposition should not be too difficult.

I suggest that you poor cannon fodder sales staff doing the door to door sales in the area today should be paid danger money.

I don't expect a reply as from what i can deduce it all about chasing the "Big Bucks". At least though this is off my chest, you have lost numerous sales, and my social media and Hellopeter posts will hopefully gain some traction.

Thank you for the prompt feedback and subsequent phone-call. I am and was very irate at the time of writing (still no water this morning), but do understand that this is being addressed with the contractors in question. Mishaps can occur especially when civils are involved, and i am satisfied that this is being attended to.
