Vumatel failed to activate our fibre connection.

So I decided to switch From my previous fibre provider / ISP to Vumatel due to frustrations with slow internet speeds and all too frequent downtime. I’ve had 2 visits to my home by Vumatel’s fibre installers (Contractors) since the order was placed in June, despite my stating in the order process that I already had fibre and was switching providers / ISP’s, and no fibre installation was necessary. (I did not want strangers in my home, especially because of Covid, regardless of masks, etc., and the risk of crime as we are only women in the home.) the router was pre-configured by my ISP and shipped well before the switch-over, which meant we were ready for our new service. Last night at 12:00pm my previous provider switched off their service in line with the cancellation procedure. Vumatel was meant to activate my connection to the ISP from midnight, 1st August, on the new router. Surprise, surprise ... no internet yet. Rebooted the router several times today to synchronize with Vumatel - no service. Contacted the ISP and they said that activations department at Vumatel could not be reached as it was weekend. So it’s month-end, and no work / school assignments can be done. Surely a company the size of Vumatel has the resources to switch subscribers to their service after hours or on weekends? I now have to get a RAIN SIM to get internet access until such time as Vumatel’s Activations division switch our ‘service’ on. Seems mediocrity has become the norm across all Service Provider businesses lately. Most disappointed.
