VUMATEL AN ABSOLUTE DISSAPOINTMENT

If there is anyone thinking of installing a fibre line and you have a choice of providers that you could choose from - stay well clear of VUMATEL. They can actually change their name to GLADNIETEL - because since their installers came to install my fibre line I still haven't got any internet.

I must give the utmost credit to SUPERSONIC, by this I mean Lisa Ellis, that have been trying her utmost best to get my service activated and running so that I can continue to work on a high-speed fibre line.

First and foremost regarding the installation: - Installation was done 27-11-2020 - Installer team was 30min late (no call to say they will be late) - No identification by installer that they work for VUMATEL (subcontract) - NO COVID19 PROTOCOL WAS FOLLOWED - no mask, no hand sanitiser, no surgical gloves worn, no social distancing of 1.5m etc.

Activation of fibre line: - 01-12-2020 still no internet - Installer promised the line will be active within 1hour to 24 hours - I had to complete a form after the installation but the installer had no more forms available and said he will be back the following day to drop one off for me to complete. I am still waiting. - SUPERSONIC have been escalating the matter to VUMATEL and send them all the necessary info to show that VUMATEL haven't completed their activation proses. - Dineo Seokwang from VUMATEL, installation call centre manager, also gave me no concrete answer or help and couldn't respond to my email with info, because she wasn't at her computer.

Should an installation activation take this long? I deviantly don't think so.

I can gladly recommend SUPERSONIC as an ISP. With project co-ordinators like Lisa Ellis, I can definitely say call them anytime.

So what about VUMATEL? It has been a disaster from the word go. Booking an installation via their webiste was a mess - since their online system doesn't update it from when they are preparing the network to where the network is now available. This error caused me to have a duplicate installation request. When you have to confirm online - this also fails. Their website links that they mail to you to confirm your installation appointment doesn't work. It tells you it will take a while on the screen, but leaving my computer for three hours and returning to the same screen. It makes you wonder. With this in mind you have no idea if it has been scheduled or not. Then when you call them to inform them the installer team is late, they just reschedule the appointment without contacting the installer team to find out where they are or informing you of the progress of the team. They just reschedule without confirming the new date and time - not that it was even necessary.

Can you blame me for going on hellopeter and telling potential customers if they should use VUMATEL? The above tells the story. Maybe you will be lucky and have an installation that goes well with no glitch. When it goes like this and you are a new client and you feel you having been running into a brick wall every time... That is the only time I say hellopeter.

VUMATEL or GLADNIETEL
