Review: Vumatel & Vodacom – A Loop of Empty Promises and Inconsistent Billing

Review: Vumatel & Vodacom – A Loop of Empty Promises and Inconsistent Billing Rating: ⭐☆☆☆☆ I am writing this to warn others about the ongoing billing nightmare and non-existent customer support from Vumatel. For months, I have been subjected to inconsistent deductions from my account with absolutely no set payment date, making it impossible to manage my finances.

Despite multiple attempts to resolve this and request a refund for these unauthorized and erratic charges, Vumatyel has been utterly unhelpful. Every time I reach out, I am met with the same two responses:

The "Vodacom" Referral: They constantly refer me to Vodacom, claiming it is their responsibility.

The Endless "Escalation": When I do manage to speak to someone, they claim the matter is being "escalated" to the accounts department.

The Reality: No one ever comes back to me. Vodacom is equally unhelpful, providing no assistance while I continue to be billed for a service that lacks basic administrative transparency. It feels like a deliberate loop designed to make customers give up on their own money.

Verdict: If you value your money and your sanity, stay away. The lack of a fixed payment date is unprofessional, the inconsistent deductions are unacceptable, and the "support" is nothing more than a series of empty reference numbers.

Reviewer Update
Dear Vuma Team,
Thank you for your response, although I must express my severe dissatisfaction with how this matter is being handled.
While I acknowledge your explanation regarding the division of roles between the Fibre Network Owner (FNO) and the Internet Service Provider (ISP), I find the constant redirection of responsibility between both parties unacceptable. This "finger-pointing" approach has left my issue entirely unresolved while I continue to pay for a substandard service.
To assist with your investigation, here are the requested details:
  • Serial Number / Order Number: 48BD443C90F2BB1
  • ISP Name: Vodacom
My primary concern remains the quality of service and the lack of a proactive resolution to the infrastructure issues I have reported. I expect Vuma, as the owner of the infrastructure, to take accountability for its maintenance rather than merely deflecting to the ISP.
I trust that with the provided details, you will now prioritize a technical resolution. I look forward to a definitive update on when this will be rectified.
Kind regards,
Tshiamo Nche
