Overpromised and Underdelivered
Fibre down for 4 days already. And we're told to suck it up because its everywhere in Cape Town....if you're with Vumatel though. But I'm not sure what's worse, because the ridiculous and insulting information that is being fed out is shocking. Never mind that we are incurring massive costs running 3 x laptops and 4 phones at home off data. But then the public comms that is sent out...firstly don't insult our intelligence. We dont need to have it explained that loadshedding means that when it all comes back on at once there will be an overload on the system with all the CPE's trying to find a connection, being likened to masses of people entering a stadium through one gate with pushing and shoving. Seriously, this is not a Janet and John book. And why is it that the other providers in our area appear to be able to manage and maintain stability. We were sold on the idea that Vuma was the only way to go in our area, being speedy and stable. Well the first year has been neither and this is now a **** show. Furthermore, to suggest in the comms that perhaps clients should try and avoid the loadshedding completely by installing a back up power supply...well, if we could all afford to do that we would have done so by now, and for reasons other than assuming this is the only way to be online..at all! 4 days...and no closer to knowing how much longer. Will be very glad when giving cancellation notice and signing on with a company who can deliver.
