No fibre vuma from Vumatel and no access to web from Webafrica
I have been without internet access for 11 days so far and it seems that no progress is being made on sorting out the problem.
I initially contacted Webafrica who told me that I had run out of data and that I was registered for a 50 Gig package with Vumatel although I had upgraded and had been paying for a 100 Gig package for some months already.
Webafrica logged a ticket with Vumatel to change my account to an unlimited gigs package that same day.
This seemed to have been actioned the next afternoon as I had internet access for a few hours.
From the next morning I have had no access to internet. Webafrica told me that everything seems to be in order on their systems and they logged a ticket with Vumatel.
I have been sent back and forth like a ping-pong ball with Webafrica saying it is a Vumatel fault and Vumatel saying that it is a Webafrica fault. I have called Webafrica at least 12 times in the past 10 days. I have spoken to different Vumatel representatives and sent messages to Vumatel least 12 times in the past 8 days.
On a conference call on with both a Webafrica representative and a Vumatel representative it was established that even when I try access the fibre connection with a ethernet cable directly from the Zhone fibre box into my laptop I still do not get access and I get an error message that internet is not available on this network. So it has been established that this is not a problem with my TP-link modem.
I have been promised by Vumatel that my query has been escalated, and is being investigated and that the Services manager will phone me ... and I am still waiting. I was told by Vumatel several days ago that a technician will be sent to me house - this has not happened.
Today a representative from Vumatel phoned me to tell me that everything is fine on my Fibre connection and that she will be closing my ticket. I explained to her that there is still a problem. She then said that this must be a fault with Webafrica (again). When I insisted that I still do not have internet and that it has already been established that I am not getting any access via the Vumatel fibre box she said she would investigate and get back to me (again).
A Webafrica representative came to my house today to investigate. He found that when doing an autodetect my account comes up as Static IP and that this is a problem that Vumatel needs to fix. I tried to call Vumatel to update my ticket with this further information but the call agent refused to listen to me, insisted that everything is fine on Vumatel's side and I must go back to Webafrica. When I asked to speak to a manager the call agent hung up on me.
I am self-employed and running my from my house and so am reliant on internet access. I have had a loss of earnings have incurred additional expenses in the past 11 days. It seems that Vumatel is unwilling to help me and Webafrica have been unable to solve this problem.
