If you are reading this, just use another fiber provider
I am in the unfortunate situation that I bought in a complex and Vumatel is the only provider. Moved into the new place very hopeful and excited to get and decent internet speed. I signed up with Vox and Vumatel. Little did I know how much of a headache this would be. I must complain about both these companies, but I will have a separate one for Vox. The previous owner informed me that he forgot to cancel the internet and I mistakenly thought that this was not going to be an issue. A week into struggling with Vox I only found out that Vuma does not want to hand the line over. So, the previous owner and I formulated an email to his ISP (Cybersmart) to release the line and that I can get it. A woman there by the name of Rowena helped us. They released the line on the 10th of September. I confirmed this on the 28th of September, but I am getting ahead of myself. I got no response from Vuma until the 23rd. A person from Vuma phoned me saying that they can, and I will have it after 48H. That came and went. My wife then also started to contact them. We them found that Vuma now wants a proof of address. Why they did not just say this, directly to us, from the beginning astounds me. I resorted to Tweeting, they responded, but no feedback after I send them my ticket number. I stated calling them a lot, but this did not help. So, the 1st of October came, and I thought that the line would be released now because that Is what Vox told me. It is the 4th of October; I emailed all the email addresses that I could find. One person responded saying that I should send proof of address. I sent him the document and said that they never respond on the *** email address. Guess what. This person, Prince Mkhonto, also did not respond after that. I hate that the customer needs to follow up, I hate that they cannot respond to the customer with any valuable information. Vuma is useless and their customer service is #insertcursewordhere.
