Haven got a cooking clue what you are doing
The vumatel experience is aweful. After rolling out fibre in our area these are some of the issues:
1. The website shows fibre available but clicking on Order takes you to a registration page. After that you need to specify address. My complex is spelt wrong and listed multiple times wrongly. Once i get some kind of address going I can only express interest. The list is horrible and the options are expensive.
2. I go to the vumatel shop to see other options and there are many. I click on order for the one I like which requests I login. I do, my ordered item is gone. Can only Express interest, no option to order what I wanted from the shop. Aftre phoning many ISP's I have learnt this... There are 2 vumatel shops. Fibre trenched on the normal shop link and Fibre aerial at aerial shop. We fall under aerial. Some ISP's want nothing to do with aerial fibre and so you cannot order from them. I eventually thought oh well let me pick one from "Express interest". FAIL. The listings their are so outdated that the ISPs deny even having them. There is a vox capped 100MB fibre with 500GB cap for R800 / month roughly. Phoned vox and they say that package is only for Norwood residents and they no longer offer capped fibre. So nothing in the express interest aerial shop is actually something you can order!! I eventually got hold of wirulink who put in the application on my behalf, so some progress was made. Tx Wirulink. Ordering from the aerial shop was impossible.
3. A rep called to say she was coming to our complex to outline how fibre install will work. She booked a time and we told everyone she was coming. She arrived 30 mins late in an uber. Uber no problem late was an issue as most had gone out knowing that the rep was coming earlier. She was friendly and super helpful though.
4. Brightlink booked the installation and even though my address is clear online and it was checked multiple times by vuma AND the guys came sunday and took a photo of the line being live. Brightlink got lost and nearly didn't make it the day of appointment. After installing they said wait for green light, should be done by end of day.
5. 4 days later my status is still Pending ONT discovery. All other ISP's are saying this process is quick and takes 24 hours. Activation should be 24 hours after install. I have a ticket number and phone every day, and every day you tell me 24 hours. It has been passed on to configurations department (basically brightlink) for setup but we have no feedback on this. I asked for the brightlink number so I can check with them whats happening, guess what? The number doesn't work!
I'm trying to get fibre and move away from Telkom but now I'm regretting my choice. I regret letting vuma install aerial cables in our complex as my list of available providers is almost nil. Unfortunately there weren't options. Your systems are ******* and not connected. Your staff are friendly but cannot help.
