So after 2-3 'confirmed installations' that no-one showed up for, my fibre line was finally installed on Tuesday, incorrectly. Thankfully we were informed that technicians would not need access to the house, so we wouldn't need to organize for someone to be home during the week, except that turned out to be nonsense and my housemate had to leave work early to be home for our appointment with the technician yesterday.

Who, in a surprise twist, did not show up.

Now after numerous calls, we have been promised that, '100% the technician will be there tonight to fix the line'. As of writing this, it is 19:45. When calling to confirm whether the technician is indeed still coming, support is unable to tell me anything about it, or more importantly, whether I should still be waiting around for the technician, as previously we have been told they work until 10. The best they could tell me is to follow up on Monday. In 2017, an age full of computers and cellphones, its apparently just not possible to contact the technician, or have some form of logging/appointments/schedule on your system.

So once again, we're sitting around at home, making sure at least one person has to be home on the off chance your personnel show up. Its ridiculous that we have to fight with you on the phone and get angry before the SLIGHTEST professionalism is shown.

Its really quite simple, if you have an appointment, you either show up, or let the other person know you cannot make it and reschedule, let alone when its a paying customer.

This is now the 7th time something as simple as a scheduled appointment (requiring one of us to take leave or leave work early) has been bungled. I realize your competition is Telkom, so the bar is basically as low as it can get, but this is utterly unacceptable. I have never recommended Telkom for anything in my life, but at this stage Vuma seems to be a far worse option.

Shortly after posting this, my housemate again contacted vumatel, who, over the last few minutes, seem to have discovered cellular technology and were able to contact the technician, confirmed again, ‘he will be there 100%’, but in typical fashion, was a no show.

Now after contacting support this morning I have been told that an ETA is just not possible, and he will contact me an hour before arriving, which is simply not acceptable. We work during the week, and are not available to just be home at any time with an hours’ notice. Not only that, but without an ETA, should we be expecting something today? (Doubtful) or within 2 weeks? This is a ridiculous way to conduct busniness.
